Going out in the winter.

I'm not talking about extreme weather like tornadoes or torrential rain, but just a lack of sunshine or even when it's a bit wet. Some people only seem to enjoy being outside if it is hot and sunny which is a bit unfortunate if you live in the UK as our weather has a more exciting repertoire than some places. Some places even look better after a bit of rain or can be very romantic with a bit of mist or soft light. Some plants and rocks have a better colour or sheen to them in different conditions. Are you a fair weather person or do you like a bit of variety?

I'm in a tropical country which makes me want to have a winter season. All we have are summer and rain. I don't really love summer, too much heat gives me really bad headaches. Rain is okay but I don't really go out much if it's raining. Cold or maybe winter season would be lovely for me.

We always want what we see other people having. I would like to visit a tropical place but I don't think I would cope with too much heat very well.

Yeah you wouldn't. Especially if you use are accustomed to the cold weather in your country. It's worth a visit 'though Anyway you will have to stay in a well ventilated Hotel.

Sometimes the cooler or different weather just makes you want to do more. I got in a very cheerful spirit when we went out of town shopping last week. We did a lot more walking between stores than we usually do and it was a good time for us. All I could attribute it to was the slightly cloudy weather. It was not really cold, but it was brisk enough we enjoyed our walk.

Autumn walks help me burn off all those yummy autumn foods I want to eat.

It's true you can be more active when it is cooler. In the summer I only do the garden in the morning or late evening. In the midday and afternoon heat it's too exhausting and not pleasant at all. I like autumn walks especially, not so cold that you want to run back inside but cool enough to make a brisk walk comfortable.

I am beginning to like winter at my place because winter has finally come to my place, for the first time in several years it actually snowed where I live. I have never seen snow in the place where I live, and I have lived here for 24 years. I loved every single second of it, and I took lots of pictures. I can now since those Christmas songs and know what they actually mean.

I'd imagine snow is quite a first time experience if it happens when you are a bit older. Last year we had some serious cold and snow and some of the kids were a bit shocked by it - until they discovered sledding and snowball fights and all the other fun that comes with it.

I don't mind a bit of variety in the weather as we have here in the UK, but I much prefer the sunshine of the summertime. The warm lazy days... I guess I do have quite a lazy streak in me.. Outside in the winter, I tend to rush around to keep warmer, and get back to the house quicker.. As a kid I used to look after our horses on the farm where we lived, and they had to be fed and checked as the grass doesn't hold much nutrition in the winter time. So all weathers I had to get out and put out hay and such foods. There were some quite picturesque scenes when we got hard frosts with the ponies standing out in the whiteness with their winter coats. Photgraphy in those days were expensive with the film-only cameras, but I wish I had had digi camera back then. I like the look of winter scenes, but not so much the feel of them.. _Derek

Sometimes frost can make everything look so pretty. Whilst double glazing is great for keeping warm and fuel economy, some kids out there have never seen Jack Frost make a window look stunningly beautiful.

I like weather in the mid 70's to mid 80's. I enjoy the four seasons but not necessarily being out in the cold part of it. We get snow and cold weather from October to April. When I was younger I enjoyed the cold more but now, beginning my 60's, I am not into it as much.

Well, I like the four seasons and sometimes we get to experience them all on the same day.... I don't like being cold so I'll wrap up warm if the weather looks bad. It's true that as you get older you start to notice cold more - especially drafts. I never used to notice a draft unless it was severe and now I've pretty much sealed up the house. I'll probably suffocate one day!

I don't care for drafts either. DOn't suffocate. I have to open the window for fresh air even in the freezing cold.

I would like to go outside and enjoy the fresh and chilly air and sunshine in winter. I will be happier and feel more relaxed when I am in the nature.

I think it's good as well because some plants and animals only show up in the winter. Migratory birds and some plants only put out flowers or berries when it is cold.

i live in new england. all we have is variety! lol it can be cold and snowing in the morning and then warm up nuff to not even need a jacket later in the day. my father in law used to say "dont like the weather? wait five minutes..." and it suits this area perfectly. me.. im like you. while i detest the freezing cold (or the wicked heat) the changes in climate are refreshing and keeps things from being boring. i`ll take my kids out to splash in a thunderstorm.. a walk with the snow coming down.. warm spring/summer days. the mixup is good for you.. keeps you from getting stagnant

Hi hvedra: I really like how the weather change during the whole year and how these changes make nature look different. I think that winter has it's own magic. For some people it makes them feel sad but in my case I think it's very inspiring to see my town in winter. ALVARO

I think that a little variety is great but too much variety can really be something that can be messed up. I like my weather mild and sunny. There is something great about the first snow of the year, but after that first snow of the year, it does rather stick hard that is just one more obstacle in my way. I do think that it would be boring if it was the same weather all of the time. However, there is so many times where a certain type of weather can rather get on my nerves more quickly than it should. I think that there are many times where it can add to the atmosphere but no need to overdo it at all. At least that's how I see things.

I love the sun, no matter how hot it is. And, I hate even the least amount of cold. So, I hate winter most of all. I try to stay in my house and, literally, hibernate. When the weather is warm, I will either walk 3 blocks to the mailbox, or sit outside my house and just soak up the sun.

Now, I'm the opposite and don't like it too hot or sunny and will hide in the house when it gets really hot. I don't like extreme cold either but find I can get more done if I'm not overheated.

I love to walk in the rain when it's not too cold outside, everything looks and smells so different after rain. I love showers in the spring and summer, but... I definitely don't like it when it's cold and I can't go home for many hours, and I know that don't have a chance to get dry soon.

I don't like being cold so I wrap up warm and wear a waterproof coat. Sometimes I get caught in bad weather and that isn't fun! I like the smell after rain too, especially in the woodlands. Everything smells so earthy and alive.
