That's good, your child was cured. Hopefully after this, your child is always healthy. Maybe you could give vitamins to your child. Additional vitamin, is great for endurance. You also have to pay attention, your child's diet. I hope that your child is always rated health.

Simple home remedies for fever without any infection is simply to give a tepid sponge bath. Let him drink plenty of fluids for hydration to cool him down. Take his body temperature after 15 minutes that you have given the tepid sponge bath to know if he has responded to the procedure you have given. Let him take his medications on time according to the doctor's advice. If the fever persists even with medication, it would be better that you bring him to the doctor again.

hi indahfth oh its so hard when its your little one thats so ill. dear noneof us are doctors so I do think if you son is not better in two days do get him b ack to the doctor as he might have to give him a different medication to cure his illness. With a child I would not wait too long just tobe sure for your own peace of mind. as i understand it healh care is inexpensive in India so do go back if he is not better soon.

What did the doctor tell you yesterday? Is his temperature higher than it was yesterday? Have any of the other symptoms changed? What medication did the doctor give you for him? Whether or not to take him back is not clear cut.

If your child feels hot just put some cold wet cloth on his fore head and wipe him down with a cold cloth/ face/arms and feet that will bring the temperature down...but if the fever persist take him back to the doctors I think that is the safest way. I hope he get well soon. Take care.

hi indahfth,
the doctor when you brought the child there must have given you something to make the temperature to lower. let your child take the medicine. and then do sponge bath. or you can wet a towel (cold water/ice water) and wring the excess water and place it on the forehead of the child. do not cover the child with so many blankets and so that his temperature will not be trapped in it. give him liquids, this is very important. if the temperature stays for 2 days without going down, better bring him back to the doctor.. i would suggest directly to the hospital where that doctor is working. my granddaughter just got admitted (but have been recently released) and it was found out to be systemic viral infection.

Is he having fever? Has he taken the medication from doctor? IF so, how many times has he taken it? IF it's what the doctor told u and the fever still persist, it's better to bring him to another doctor for a second opinion. DO remember to bring along the medication he ate, so the doctor is able to know what's exactly wrong with your son. In worse case, u might have to bring him to the hospital for a cold bath, for emergency.

When my daughter is sick,if its just plain fever without infection,i always gave her her paracetamol her Pedia gave us.Give her a warm bath wherein water is hot as she can take.Give her lots of water to drink and always took her temperature reading..
But if you I think is infected with ,cough, flu, colds, tonsillitis,I don't give her anything without doctors prescription.I don't want to take a risk with regards to her health..
Hope your son gets well soon dear. :-D

I'm sorry to hear what you are going through and now your son is ill.
Did the doctor give any medication? If he did then just let him take it.
I would suggest that if his fever is not high, just let him sleep and give him plenty of water or tea to drink. Soups and fruits are good to eat and easy to digest.
If his fever is high, then you should give him medicine to reduce it. You can give him a bath with water that has the temperature similar to your own body's temperature. Or you can wipe his face and body with a wet cloth. If he doesn't get better in 2 days, I can second others that you better take him back to the doctor. I hope your son gets well soon!

It's seldom the case, if it's so I seldom temp since I can see how or what.
Mostly with fever I keep him warm and let him sleep, so the body has to get rid of the fever/virus itself.
You can also give something to make the fever less so at least he can sleep a bit or will be able to drink something.
If the fever is not gone or lower in 2-3 days if you do so I would go back to the doctor.

In most cases, a normal fever without any other related condition lasts for three days and most of the time if the child is given analgesic, the fever may take one or two days. If the child temperature remains high even after taking medication, I would advise you to take him back to the hospital immediately. High fever results to convulsions or worse still an organ damage. It is important that other diseases are ruled out. Try also to cool his temperature with a wet towel.

Doctors may not diagnose properly. This usually happens when either we are failed to provide enough information on symptoms of the fever or the doctor can not figure out the cause of the fever. Under such situation, check with the doctor for twice/thrice. Then, if fever is not down still, then better look for another reputed pediatric specialist.
