I love chinese food. Egg Drop soup is one of my favorite items too.
So I was at a local Asian store and I always buy egg rolls from the lady. She used to run a chinese shop so I asked her about how to make egg drop soup.
she showed me a package to use the package and make this soup.
All I can say is, whatever was in that little package did NOT taste like the egg drop soup I have enjoyed all the years of eating chinese soup!
Do you think that was her way of telling me not to make it just buy it???

I like most Chinese food, but I have never had that kind of soup. It just doesn't sound good to me! Everytime I try to make something that I have eaten out, it never tastes as good. Maybe it is just me, because I don't like to cook, but I think it is usually easier and better if you just buy the dish you like.

Your right. I never knew you could mess up a simple soup like egg drop soup LOL
But I did. And I KNOW how to cook.

hmmm I have never heard of this soup before, did you follow the instructions as you should have, or maybe packet things are not always as good as the cooking they do in the restaurants at least mine isn't..

yea if you are ever in the grocery store look in the chinese section and you will see little packets of the ingredients to add (spices etc) it will say egg drop soup, or wonton soup etc. Its like getting a package of chili mix only for egg drop. Trust me since I am not oriental and know their trade secrets, mine tasted nothing like what I eat from the restaurants!

LOL. Did she sell egg drop soup already made? If that is the case I think she was saying she wanted you to buy it from her. I would like to know how to make several Oriental dishes.

LOL I will. Now I know the Orientals do not use that package either!
