Sometimes we can off the wrong impression of what it means to be a Christian. Being a Christian does not mean that you are more HOLY than any individual, so why is it that many suppose to be Born Again Christian act this way towards others?

I think it's because it's so easy to get sidetracked. A vibrant relationship with Jesus requires that we are humble, both in His sight and in the sight of others. Human beings are lazy by definition and are too often satisfied with an almost superficial relationship with Him, so it's easy to see ourselves as being something we are not. Not sure that made sense, but I know what I mean!

It depends on what you mean by "holy than thou". Today, there is no clear cut difference between the believers and the world. One thing is certain and unchangeable, the Lord will never lower His standard. Almost anything is permissible today in the name of human rights and "don't judge" syndrome. Some of us are just too unkind to see others living decently where almost the whole world has compromised. So, back to your point. Do you fill "judged" because a believer in your circle is able to withstand pressure to "join the flow"? Or is the believer regularly remind you of "how bad" you are? The two scenario are different. The former is right while the latter is wrong. We are in a world where anything goes. Today, ask any person why s/he does something and the person will answer that what s/he does is "COOL". So, please let's remember that believers are suppose to be the light of the world. If I'm not living up to that standard, I should reconsider my life.
