Yesterday, I heard a friend talking about his uncle made this huge mistake while he was trying to make a payment to the natural gas company online. He usually made his payment through bill pay, and the actual cost for last month gas bill was around $38.78. But while he enter the amount on the bill pay page, he didn't enter the decimal point, so it turned out to be $3878. Few days later, he got a notification from his bank, and he knew that he made a mistake on the bill. So he called up the natural gas company, and ask for the refund. The rep told him to call the billing department, and they will handle it. So, he called the billing department, and one of the rep handle it, and told him a refund check will be processed. That will take 10 business days. After 10 business days, no check was coming. So he called again, and they said that they couldn't process the check. Now, he just turning around and around and still didn't get the refund. What should he do? Maybe he should go up to the natural company, and talk to the real person, or maybe someone who is in higher position. Otherwise, this just last forever.

it was a human error and i think human error must be understood as something normal and may happen to anyone. i think the company hve to refund as a reason consumers pay for something he doesnt take. personal approach is the most improtant. don foget to keep all proof as back when legal actions is needed then

I think it is better that he go to that company directly and ask for someone higher. As a customer, your satisfaction should be the highest priority of the company servicing you.It appears that this company is not taking your case seriously and just pushing you back until you get tired and just forget it. That shouldn't be the case though, 3000 dollars is a big amount of money and it takes lots of hours to earn. Tell you uncle to go to the gas company and talk to a real person.

Well, what he could have done was call the bank right away and have them stop the payment. Then he could have corrected it and then done it over again. Now, I don't know, maybe he could still go to the bank and ask them what he could do to fix this.
