My husband had some old books and he didn't want them any more. I packed them well and prepared to sell them as the paper. Fortunately my mom checked it and found about USD50 in his book This is a real surprise we have some extra money. Now you can see that there are some advantages to clean the house

That happen to me as well, it was many times, when I trying to clear up some magazine and books from our house small library, I would found some money in between the books. That is how my wife keeping her money and most of the time, she forgot where or which books she kept it and will only found it when someone try to clean up the books. So, when ever I want to get rid of some books or magazines from the book shelf, I will need to flip page by page to make sure there are no money in between them.

Youless, you are lucky that your mom do helped you check first before you send those books away. If not, you will loss the advantage of having some extra money for use. I remembered that, when i was young, i do have this type of habit, keeping some money away for saving. I tried to control myself from spending unnecessary. It is lucky that i always keeps my books that have money in a place which is easy for me to find. Now, i don't have this funny habit anymore after being laughed a few times by my hubby. Indeed, cleaning the house do have many good advantages, which includes, discover some extra money and makes the home free from dust as well.

Youless, you can said this is a good habit. Only, you must make sure that you never throw away the book that contained the hidden money. Yes, Lily, i had been keeping my money using that method since from my schooling days. Because i was planning to buy myself a laptop at that time, so i thought of this idea. It is because i don't have the time to go to the bank and keep my money. I am happy that i managed to save quite a lot using this method. But, not now, since i have a naughty child at home...

Aha that is your reward! When I used to live with my flatmate he was always losing money down the back of the sofa and would always leave money in his trouser pockets. I would always do the washing in my household because that was my selected house duty, the amount of times I would find folded up notes and coins in his pockets. I was not honest in that I didn't tell him I had found them, he should check his pockets before putting them in the washbin, besides it was like payment for having to clean his dirty washing! There were always coins down the back of the sofa. So for me housework was extremely profitable, seeing as I ended up doing most of it!

Just the other day I found $7.00 I had forgotten about having. I am so glad that I found it too as it helped me a little bit. I love finding money I've stowed away but I'm not much to stow money away anyway, I usually keep all mine in the bank and use my debit card. Glad that $50.00 was found, how annoying would it have been if your husband remembered "oh honey I stuck $50.00 in one of those books you sold!" Ahh! Always good to double check!

Hi,youless~ Yup,yup,it's always good to clean the house~LOL~I usually find my money in some pockets of my jeans or purses~Have to admit I'm pretty careless~Haha~I've found 10s,20s,50s,or simply changes. And it's always a pleasant surpriseDon't know if I ever washed my jeans with money in them.Doubt I did.My boyfriend did that once though.A 20.Pretty wet when he got it out~Haha~And his cat usually knocks his changes on the table down.So whenever I help him clean his room,it's liking a journey of picking up changes~Haha~

what was funny was that i already secured an affidavit of loss for my lost ID but was only useless since i already found it.moreover, i already applied for a new ID.the good side of it was that i can keep the original ID (in which I look more handsome,LOL)and surrender the other new one to the school before I graduated.

Yeah, that would be nice to find some money in some pocket or book. My aunty was here last summer and she borrowed me a pair of jeans one night when we went out, I liked them and asked if I could wear them, so when I put them on I put my hand in the back pocket and found a wad of money. I said to her, in fun, if I find anything in your pockets can I keep it. She said, sure because she just washed them and hadn't worn them since so there couldn't be anything in the pockets. So I pulled out the wad of bills out of the back pocket and handed it to her. So couldn't believe it. The money was intact and it was her deposit she thought she lost, from her hairdressing shop, the week before. It was a wad that added up to $800. She is so careless with her money. Of course I didn't keep the money but she wouldn't have even known had I not said anything, and that is the sad thing. littlemissy here signing off for now talk to you soon my friend

Congratulations! It is really a good thing. Your husband must put it in the book as a bookmark. I wish i can have the same good luck, but i know clearly that i can't have it in my house, because none of my family members treat money so careless. And i am sure maybe i can only find several jiao of renmingbin in one of our books.

That must have really delighted you. Imagine, 50 dollars is 50 dollars and could buy something. It's really delightful to find money you don't even expect. I also did experience the same thing. I was actually cleaning my closet and find some old bags. Then I decided I'd just give away those old bags for I am no longer using them anyway although they are still in good condition. I therefore checked them first and in one of them I found some bills and some pennies. I got around 300 pesos all in all. The amount was not that big but at least it could buy around 2 kilos of dressed chicken.

This has happened to me a few times. Once, I was checking the drawers and throwing away unwanted stuff and then I came across a stack of $1 bills. I counted the bills and there were one hundred pieces. All at once I was richer by $100!
