Maybe it depends on how the truth was delivered, I think there is a way of saying some things as I think when you are maybe going to deliver a negative before you do throw in a positive or compliment first...maybe.

It could be also that people ask for what they really dont want to hear especially when its something that they want to do.I feel that if you dont want to hear it then dont ask.I truely feel where you are coming from as well because it is all a matter of how you approach the person in the first place about the situation. I always pray and ask for God to give me the words to say to someone before I speak so they will know that its not just what I want them to hear but what they need to hear that will help them.Sometimes we can tell a person the truth and come at them in a harsh manner because of our feelings or emotions on the situation especially when they are in the midst of a situation that can hurt them.We have to sometimes put what we feel aside and just be honest with each other and if they are a friend they will recieve it.

The truth hurts. Everyone wants to know everything, and wants every person to be honest with them. But the problem is, they couldn't handle it. That is why it is better to lie so you won't hurt anybody. Something you don't know won't hurt you.

I think it is because we are such fragile being. We don't want to hear negative words/things about us, all we want to hear are just beautiful things bla bla and, so on. I think it also our human nature. We get hurt about the truth, but I believe we can handle that feeling, that madness. It also a form of defense mechanism,I forgot the exact term for that defense mechanism. And that defense mechanism helps us to make our mind healthy. :) I mean, it helps us to handle stress. In psychology, it can be explain further. ;)
