Hello Lotters,
Not every one in the first world are having a good time with their lives, more like "Living one day at a time" because most people can either be bored or tired with the way they live. Some people have wasted time harboring hatred or looming about how good their past was.
But also others do anything to keep themselves healthy to the point that they get obsessed and wants to see the future.
I, on the other hand wants to live longer enough to see Space Exploration to reach Mars or return to the moon, but right now i don't see much of that.
The reality is that we can't be Immortal, in fact it gets bored in the Long run..

You know its my greatest fantasy, I can live alone for all I care (Am I evil for thelackof emotional attachment withmy family.....) If I am immortal, I will use it as a way to help humanity. all that wisdom and knowledge I can learn.
I also want to witness some break through in technology, Like cleaning of dirty rivers, reparing of the ozone layer, colonization of the moon,Mars,Venus and moons of Jupiter. I want to witness the mining asteroid belt,I want to see humans being able to build an artificial planet AKA oversized spaceship. Imagine a spaceship 2 times bigger than the sun. over population problem is solved.

Hello Captain_Albert, Well, too bad though that is not that it can happen, I used to dream the same thing. unfortunately, when you see the best thing in your life, you might get bord in the long run. I think planets like venus and mars, if terraformed, we just solve teh problem hehe

Very true. As much as I wanted to live more. I still never thought of being Immortal. I could not imagine living like Edward Cullen who don't die unless he goes to Volturi's and request them to take his life.
And I won't even forget this line from the movie In Time, Henry Hamilton told Will Salas: The day comes when you've had enough. Your mind can be spent even if your body's not

Hello enelym001, I believe there is an eternity out there. I still hold on to the belief that we all belong to God and we go back to him when we die.I have to be honest I am afraid to die, but probably is something that I am going to be someday and that is returning to dust. Have a nice day.

In my teens I read a lot of Science fiction and one story, it was really a book was about a person who had live for centuries by having all his memories transferred from one brain to another. Sometime he lived as a man and another as a woman. It was a very interesting story, i wish I could remember the name. Maybe someone here will remember.

Hello Savypat, Only the Memory and the identity is meant to leave forever but the being itself is just gone. I think it would have been better if the memory stays in as a memory to be check on by future generations. I don't think i can think of myself as a human living only with the memory and different body? what about the soul? well, have a nice day

Hi Letran Knight: That's a very interesting question. Though I understand that everything has an end and that eventually I will leave this wonderful world, I feel a little bit worried if I think too much about the subject because we don't know anything about what's next after you die. We just can speculate and live our lifes always thinking about the amazing gift we have in our hands.

I don't think about it that much but probably I'd be scared if i start thinking about it. but i guess that's why we should make the best out of life because you never know when life is going to an end.

Hello Bhabycatch, That's what they want to do if they want to make up for the lost times. but for those who have lived their lives, they will live forever in the hearts and minds of other people continuing their legacy

I want to live young forever not because I am afraid to die but because I am a curious person.I want to live long because I wanna see people travel to other galaxies,go to moon as if going to a mall, fly with ease, etc.
I also wanna see evolution take place right through my eyes.I wanna see the sun expand.I wanna see how the future looks like.
I guess living young forever isn't boring. It is actually fun for me.

Hello ferbJohn, I wonder what would have happened if you stop being curious. I know that the galaxy is very huge to explore. Ever thought about getting tired after all those years? SUN won't get big merely after a couple of billion years and that's basically a very long time. it's fun at first few hundred years though. well, it would be a miracle if your still curious and having fun after a billion years. have a nice day.

hehe Hi there Letran! I think it has been quite a while since i saw you in here... :D For the topic, i say we will never really find answers in a single lifetime, even those who seek the truth and the knowledge all their lives are not even able to find a conclusive answer to what is bothering them. Life and Earth, and even the Galaxy is a mystery. It is slowly unfolding but not for all to see.
We are luckier than those who lived before us, we saw what technology is, but our children and their children are much luckier, because they would have a totally different experience than ours... most probably even better than what we could imagine.
Seeking to be immortal to witness all of these is not being coward to me, it is more of curiousity. hehe :P

Hello Chiyosan, That's because I have lost my internet connection and it was disconnected, just got back a few days ago. I agree that when it comes to technology we have advantage but with regards to the society, culture and norms they were way better than in our lifetime. i think technology must have influence in it. curiousty yes, but what if you get tired of curiosity in case your future partner isn't immortal. have a nice day

I don't think it would be boring as long as we align ourselves with what is going on as God's plan. Of course, we would have to be able to take care of ourselves rather than depend on society for support. Actually, the only problem I can see is that at some point we would be limited by the mental capabilities of this physical body. In time we would have to make way for greater capacity. Still, it would be a joy to watch the terraforming of Mars. I would love to take part in it. I have a few ideas of my own.

immortal seekers are not coward. i think most people share the similar interest to live a long happy life. it is more of happiness definition that will motivate people to seek for immortality.
i also wanna live forever. I hope I can live that kind of life in financially rich condition, good health, good family, and good social life. and i hope i can have many problems that i can solve and will not kill me. problems make our life more interesting and make us learn many things:) without problems, our life will be boring and nobody wants to live a long life in boredom.

Hello Arnourdian, But living forever isn't something that we were created to, who knows that some day you will get tired of living your life once you have done basically everything. I believe Problems will always arise and we are not always there to solve them. in fact, there are some instances that we might not even need to intervene. anyways, i respect your opinion, Have a nice day.
