I observed many people have different methods when it comes to killing time while waiting alone. If there's teve in waiting room, I prefer to watch it but if not then I usually playing around with my gadget or texting to my family or close friends.. I have seen people just sitting quietly and doing nothing, I prefer to take short nap if possible. However, the best killing time method is still chatting with people sitting next to us. May times I found they becomes good friends and still keep in touch, I know not so many people felt comfort to talk with strangers like I did. So How about you? What your favorite killing time method while waiting alone? How do you find other people on your surroundings?

Well, thats a really difficult position to be in. When I was a kid, I have spent hours waiting for my friends, alone, and nothing to do. There were no gadgets like internet, mobile phone in those days that I can used to while away time. Now-a-days, I prefer to fix up appointments well in advance and take a confirmation just before the schedule on the availability of people which helps me in not wasting time waiting for people alone. Thats a real boring thing. Of course, there are still instances where you are forced to wait for someone which is something we cannot avoid but to go through.

Maybe that one of the advantages of current technology breakthrough..They solved our problem by inventing those gadget, really helpful..You are right, fix schedule is the best way we can manage even sometimes unexpected waiting game still happened..

I would be doing the same as you too, when i need to wait and had to kill time, watching tv would be best option. If there is no TV or if i am not at all entertained by the show being played, then i can always refer to my cellphone. I always have some ebooks ready with me all the time for times like this where i have to seriously wait for something or someone to arrive. :D I would not talk to strangers though... but if they approach me first and start a conversation - i would not mind have a couple of exchanges. =)

well, appreciate for your fast response. You are right, watching TV is one of the easiest thing to do while waiting and killing our time.. sometimes hard to start conversation with strangers and understand if we must also take a look what strangers are doing, meaning if they looked busy with their activities better to avoid starting the conversation..

Killing time is worst part, if you are waiting and the time dosen't passes it is worst situation. When me, I try be busy on my cell phone, either playing games or texting. I also make phone calls to my friends who love to talk long. The time gets killed easily. But when there is long period of time then these methods also don't work and we try to find new and new methods of killing time.

I get very restless if I am put into a situation that I have to wait for someone or something. I'm a very restless person by nature. Make no mistake, I don't consider that to be any negative trait. I value time and find it inexcusable if I am forced into waiting by anyone or anything. But I also realize that I am not the master of all my circumstances. In spite of best efforts if I still get into situations and I'm forced to wait, I am not the one to concede or succumb to frustrations: I would still make the best use of available time to accomplish what I want to. I have a business phone and I'm in constant touch with what I want through e-mails. I will not while away time but make the best use of time still. Even if it is not serious business, I have other things to catch up with like my social media friends' discussions & status updates. So I don't really kill time; I try to make the most of unexpected time thrust on me.

Kudos for this topic! I am doing this a lot and sometimes I am running out of ideas on how to kill my time when I am waiting for something. Usually I play with my cellphone, play DOTA, browsing my phone, etc. You know what I am usually get bored of something else that's why when I am waiting for someone or something I'm always running out of ideas.

It depends actually on where I am at when I'm killing time. Like, if I'm in a cafe waiting for a friend, I usually just observe people walking by. I don't know, it really amazes me that people have really different quirks. Sometimes they make me smile and laugh a bit. I mean, it just amuses me. But I sometimes also look at their fashion. If I like how a person is dressed, I make a mental note to look for that when I shop. And there's also my trusted mobile phone which I could just send messages or play games :)

Hahha...this is very tough for me waiting anywhere for anyone. Like in waiting room for train, in house for husband, in college for teacher. I cant seat one place for more time and not seat quietly if I am not chat with anyone then feeling boring. I make a friend anywhere only for talking and laughing purpose haha...

It really depends where I am. Most of the time I'll just discreetly observe the people who walk by or are around me, other times I fidget with my phone. Sometimes, if I remember, I bring some paper with me to fold some modular origami units since I can be kept rather occupied as long as my hands are busy.
