Yesterday I was absent from mylot. Because my husband's cousin sister's MIL died 12 days before and yesterday we all are gone to attend the 12th day of funeral. The members are more so we are booked a Tata Sumo.
In the middle near 15kms long a cousin dever(small child 10 yrs old) started vomiting the driver stopped the tata sumo. For some time halt and then start the gadi again. I have seen most of the people (even young also) has such problem omitting while traveling or journey by bus or in trax or in any 4 wheeler vehicle. Do you know any medicine for it and do you have such habit. I have no such habit everything is suitable for me bus or train or trax.

I used to have such habit and I still have it but only if I stay in the back of the vehicle. I didn't search for a cure, instead I always try to find a seat in front. I don't know why, looking at the road makes me forget about it. And since I got my own car, driving solves the problem entirely. When I couldn't find a front seat I tried to fall asleep and put on my alarm phone clock so I wouldn't know what's going on, or if I trvaled with someone I tried to talk alot. I think it's a mental issue, if one doesn't think about, doesn't have a problem.

I find myself defenseless against vomiting if I do not take a tablet first. Even at my age I still vomit. I can't tell how much pity I had for the bus we rode on when I threw up so much liquid at the back of the bus. Gladly the passengers were at front. I even repented for my sins after I was done I have witnessed another male vomit at the bus window again at the rear. He squirted a vomit then the smell came out strong Some guy even had the aircon adjusted to get rid of the smell.

Yes, there is a particular pill that we let our daughter drink, an hour before she travels. It is to prevent her getting dizzy at the bus, consequently vomit. I just forgot the name though.
You can ask the sales lady in the pharmacy , what is it. It's an over the counter pill.

Fanta, it's good to hear that your family don't have this type of habit as well. Sometimes, it can spoil the happy mood while traveling, if any of our family member have such a habit. Really needs to pay a special attention, as not to take too heavy breakfast while go traveling.

Children normally vomit when travelling by bus or any vehicle going to a far place. I used to vomit when I was still little. I don't travel a lot before and I guess that's one of the reason I vomit. Even those adult who don't used to travel by big buses still vomits. We have a tablet in my country called bonamine, it's a medication that prevent nausea, vomiting and loss of balance associated with motion sickness.
It is best to take this tablet at least one hour before the travel for it to take effect.

I am fine traveling by train and never get travel sick if traveling by rail. I feel very sick and ill on a ferry when there are high waves and rough seas make me vomit. I did that on a ferry in Colombia. I wish I had gone on a fast boat and got the journey over with quickly. For that reason I came back by bus, taxi and a cross the river ferry. I got sick on a bus in Indonesia due to the narrow and twisty mountain roads. I have tried pressure points and ginger.

hi laughing woman oh as a child I got very i ll and vomited on every long motor trip. We finally had to go to a doctor on our trip and get some Dramamine and that stopped it. I was told its called motion sickness and like when you move in circles and ge dizzy, children often get that dizzy feeling and it makes then throw
up. as an adult if I go on a plane I take Dramamine so I will not get nauseated and vomit. its such a pain to be that way. I seldom get that now at my age thank goodness.Dramamine will work really well
'if taken just a start of bus trip or car trip. its the motion that makes us ill.

Hi Surekha, it is good that you don't have that problem, too. So far i don't have vomiting problem when travel by bus or train. Even my hubby and child also don't have this type of problem. I think the best way to avoid this type of problem to occur, try to have enough sleep the day before go traveling. The next day when want to go traveling, try not to eat too full. Because when our stomach is too full, it tends to make us feels dizzy and uncomfortable.

dear sis,
I don't have problem with travelling.
But I do throw up (vomit) when seeing gross things or even pictures...I don't know why.
But travelling is never been a problem to me.
You can always have some fruits to give to someone who vomits during travelling.
Sour fruits is a great help or sweets like chocolates...yes chocolates

I don't vomit while I am traveling on bus transport. I have never vomited unless I really got sick. I used to vomit when I was very ill, but not on the bus that was speeding. I got a feeling if someone vomit in the bus and I didn't want to look back at them. I just didn't like people who do have that kinds of habits.

I am used to this reflex when I was young until a few years ago. I am constantly on traveling long distances and I often have to pack a separate plastic bag for the occasion. I used to take medic8ine but I have developed routine to prevent such incidents.

Hi Surekharathi, i dont have this problem but as i know you can eat some sour food. It might help. Besides, every time you travel, try to imagine you are the driver. Just follow the road and the bit. It will help. I alway do this especially i travel with ship/ferry. Its help.

No and neither my daughter. We live 30minutes drive away from school thats why they could handle pretty well a long distance travel. We brought them to Baguio City and Batangas which is around 5 hours drive but they just sleep, chat, sing and play while in the vehicle. My sister who vomits when she was a kid and I think even now, and her daughter does vomits even with a 2 hours drive only. I pity them because they are so drain after the travel and I hope they could get over with it.

Hi! I am also like that when I was younger that's why I am not fond of traveling because I'm easily sick and then vomit inside the bus. But now, I can manage it because I always bring with me "menthol candy", sometimes "lemon" so when I feel the urge I will put the candy in my mouth and also smell the lemon. That's it!
