winter in knocking at the door.

India

when i got up today in the morning around 7, i followed my usual chore. i put on my tea pan to prepare the tea and then went out in my front yard to gather my newspaper and watch new flowers that have come out. to my astonishment i saw nothing outside but dense fog and it surprised me. last night it was a bit warmer then earlier days and we had to use fan, but in the morning scenario was a complete different. there was a dense fog outside that signaled that finally winter has arrived here.its still a bit cold inside around middle of the day. and i love this winter season as i can sit comfortably inside my blanket and nobody would ask me to get up and do some work what is weather like in your place and when are you expecting winter?is it already there at your place? which is your favorite weather and why?

The winter has already installed itself comfortably here for a few weeks. We haven't had snow yet but we need precipitations badly! I visited my land yesterday and the lake dried out at 2/3 of its capacity. We also had fog this morning and it was quite difficult for me to drive to the office. I never was a good driver and the fog gives me the creeps.

Don't you ever wish for a foggy weather when you have to reach some place. This summer we were going to visit a mountain resort - Ranca. Unfortunately we had such a fog that we passed by the resort without seeing any villa. When we finally saw a group of people, we stopped the car and asked them if Ranca is far from that place. They started to laugh, telling us that Ranca is behind us, at a few kilometers away. This is the funny part of the story but I never want to repeat that experience. It was such a dense fog that we couldn't see further than a few meters. I was so afraid because it was the first time when I was driving that mountain road and Transalpina really is a difficult (but wonderful) mountain road.

you were saved. driving on a mountain in dense fog could be too dangerous. you guys have a fine escape. the only good part of the story was that you didn't have to return back too far and it was only a few kilometers.

hey inu, after a long time. yes driving gets difficult in winter as you can not go fast even if you are running late. winter slows us down. i am lucky that i don't have to go driving early morning to reach my office. i manage my work from home. but to be honest, this early morning dense fogging fascinates me as i have never faced the danger associated with it. i stand outside trying to see something out of nothing, trying to figure out where is the tree gone which was standing in front of my house last night

If you love winter, then you should enjoy it. We don't have that season here and sometimes it can be so hot even when the fan is in full blast and sometimes I would wish that I could just take off my clothes. I love it when it rains cause then it won't be so hot.

although its already 1 weak over, yet no fog now here in my locality. You have no need to wear warm clothes at day time. Just a few in the evening and a blanket for sure at night. Comparing both season, i like winter much, reason is same. have a nice time.

I love winter Here in my place there is no winter (Manila) country's capital city. But back in my hometown we have that season...and I missed it. I like the fog, we played hide and seek and bumped to each other due to heavy fog (hahaha) Last night till now it is raining here in our place and the weather is a bit colder and that's really fine in this hot and humid city where I lived right now...

so you love all the three. i too enjoy rain but my place faces too much of all the seasons.in summer, they are very hot, and in rainy season, it rains heavily while in winter it often crosses zero degree. but still i love winter more then any other as i don't have to think much about power cuts and i can enjoy my warm blanket even without power.

We got our first snow on Sat.which is late for us. We many times have snow in October. THe snow has already disappeared though and the rest of the week appears to be warm so it might be a week or more before we get another snow shower.

Hi khare_1005, I got up this morning and there was dense fog everywhere too. I turned on the weather channel and it said that this area was going to have record breaking temperatures today. The high is to be around 80 degrees. Sure enough as I am writing this it says 78 degrees. Last week we had tornado's in this area. That is what the weather is like here on November 21, 2011. I wonder what next week will be like? Oh and by the way they are predicting rain tomorrow and tomorrow night. Only God can predict the correct weather for us. Be Bless.

Oh yes it is so cold dear friend, chilling really. Specially yesterday and today here. We had two warm days and then it begun. Now I have one more layer of clothing, couldn't help it. I try to hold as much as I can without adding layers so the winter is not that harsh and I get used to the cold, but I gave in again. My goal is always use just 1 layer until december...we are not there yet

sun basking - sun basking in winters.
Hello Khare, I too love winters and at my place too i feel winter is knocking and soon we will be having record cold in DELHI. I love winters because of several reasons like it looks nice to sleep having blanket on.Like to have sun basking. Unlike summer where we always fear to go out in a day and in winters we always like to out in a day.And there are many more reason why i like winters.

Delhi's winter always break the records for the previous year i got to hear that already few of the trains have started running late because of this fogging. its just the beginning and when its all to its extreme, trains run mostly 12-18 hours late and then it becomes a pain. in winter, when we see sun coming out of cloud, it looks so inviting. all of our neighbors take their chairs etc upstairs and sit on terrace. we have some nice chit chatting enjoying sun.

We have a thick fog day and night for the 3rd day. So everything is dark and grey and it's a bit hard to find the way outside. The temp is lower again, so it starts freezing again as well. Great weather if you don't need to go outside and can stay in with a pot of tea and a book, which is not the case for me.
