hi rencarl I am not a nurse nor a doctor but I know that there are some lotters who works in medical related field. One name I can remember is nurseclare who recently created a discussion about being hired as a paid nurse. Maybe if you "see" her around you can start a conversation with her.

I don't know any other way how we can search users by proffesion. But if you are just asking how to find a fellow mylotter that is not yet your friend but you know the username you can do that by typing www.mylot.com/"username" in the address bar and it will direct you to the profile page of that certain user.

Hello rencarl, basically I'm a medical student, but I worked for two years as a nurse in a hospital, and it was a very good and inspiring experience, thank you for having started a topic like this, it is amazing to see people in this field using myLot! :)

hello there. I experienced one incident where i was able to compare how a nurse and a doctor respond to a patient. in that incident, the nurse requests a patient to move to his right lateral position. in the same situation, the doctor commands the patient to move to his right lateral position. in this scenario, we can see that the nurse shows more compassion because he requests the patient to move rather than commanding the patient to move.although in this situation the doctor seemed to have less compassion, i am not saying that all doctors do not show compassion at all.

Helo overcrok.welcome to mylot.this is a very wonderful website you joined in. I know you are a very busy person since you are currrently a medical student but I appreciate your effort to drop by and respond to my discussion.i hope to hear more from you my friend. Glad to have a former nurse here.I know you will always be a nurse by heart and you will be a good doctor in the future. make no mistake about it.doctors who were former nurses show more compassion.I am happy to have met you my friend.

Exactly, you said it! :) Showing more compassion is absolutely right, and yes, I always had a warmer tendency for caring patients. Nice words.

hi rencarl I am long retired but I worked as a nurses aide for many years and loved it. My dad was a doctor and most of my friends were the nurses I worked with so hospitals are comfortable to me even in later years when I had to be hospitalized three times. It was odd to be on the other side of the bed and having aides and nurses wait on me for a change. I am not a nurse but I am a nurses aide, ex now as I am elderly and retired too.I am sure there are other nurses aides and registered nurses here on my lot and I know of several doctors and one dentist too. from hatley.

hello hatley.glad to have you back on my discussion. I am really happy that I was able to meet you here in mylot. being a nurses aide is not an easy job. no matter how hard it was for you i know you were happy on your profession. Now that you are already a retired nurses aide, do you still wish to be one if ever you will be born again in this world?

Yes we shall. Nice to meet you. Thank you. I think I've been here for 2 or more wks. I like it here. It is fun and I get to know a lot of stuff. I just graduated this year and after 2 1/2 months I took the board exam and passed it. I'm still a new RN. I'm working part time as a clinical instructor at a caregiving school. How about you rencarl?

Wow! That's wonderful. You are practicing your profession very well. I actually get jealous with my friends who just got hired as a nurse in some hospitals here in Cebu City but I'm more jealous with my batchmates who took up medicine and the board exam this year. I would have not been stuck in my home unproductive. Thanks rencarl. It was 1% studying and 99% Divine Intervention. I had no choice but to take the exam early because the school decides for us. We were ranked and it just happened I was in the upper 30% thank GOD. I am not that smart nor was I a mediocre. But to be honest, I learned a lot from the review compared to my 4 years in college. Hahahahha... It's just a part time rencarl and I don't like it. I have to wait for a number of students to go on duty so that I could be in action. I still can't teach theory because I have to take an exam from Tesda since it is required in every teachers working in technical school. For now, I'm only assigned for duty exposure and I'm tired of waiting for students. I want a real job but too bad I can't apply in hospitals for now because I am waiting for the next school year for my medical studies. I'm actually confused right now between Nursing and Medicine. I'm still waiting for a sign from GOD. By the way, why did you quit your work as a clinical teacher? Why did you choose to work in the hospital?

Hello. I am a nurse too just like you are. You add me up already, thanks. Yes, think your right, there are certain discussions/topics that not all mylot users can respond to. But I'm not saying they are not allowed to respond, hehehe of course everybody must share their ideas. LOL

Hi. Yes you are right rencarl, everybody must share ideas if they do have. It is really nice to have known some having the same field as you. I have been inviting my friends to join mylot, so they are able to experience mylot. It really is a good avenue for socializing, sharing ideas and aside from it your earning.
