twilight - breaking dawn part crappy one..

I can’t believe I’m about to write these words. I actually feel physically sick.. however.. here goes.
The new Twilight Film. Breaking Dawn Part 1, that I’ve been waiting for for a year, was the biggest let down of 2011.
I’m not even joking, it was awful. And I can’t even begin to understand why it was so bad!
I’ve read the books.. so maybe that was the problem. We all know when we read a book and then we watch the film, the film never does the book any justice because obviously they cannot adapt the entire book to screen, and they have to miss out parts, and we know nothing is as well described in a film as it is in a book, clearly, or we’d have more than subtitles lol!
Or maybe it’s because the story of Breaking Dawn Part 1, is a lot more slower paced than the first three movies, and I had kind of already set myself up for a fall where it was concerned?
The characters lacked the depth they did in the first three films, which is completely ridiculous, because we spent the first three movies getting to KNOW the characters, so if anything they should be like people we know, rather than 2-Dimensional things on a screen.
I just really can’t believe I waited a year.. for that.
What do you think of this?

Gosh I can't believe that it's not nice. I'll be watching this movie on wednesday since our company offers a free screening. Now that you posted here that it's not nice, I'll probably prepare myself so that I will not be disappointed. i WAS KIND OF EXPECTING THAT THIS MOVIE IS GOINGTO BE A NICE ONE BUT IT SEEMS THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE SAYS THAT IT DIDN'T CAME UP AS A GOOD MOVIE AS WHAT THEY EXPECT IT TO BE. :(

To each their own. I can't wait to see it on DVD. I'm reading the book.

ok i'll explain.
the movie itself is a very good movie. great acting, great special effects etc.
as sequals or trilogys go, it wasn't as good as the previous 3 films. it was slower paced and didn't have as much of an impact. but it was a good film.
HOWEVER.. in relation to the fantastic books.. the film was a major let down. because the first 3 films kept very close to the book. this fi;m had ALOT missing. and it isn't even because it's only part 1.. because we're past all the parts it missed. thats what made it such a let down. how far it moved away from the book :(

I only have about another hundred pages to go on the book. I can hardly put it down. I know what you mean about films not being the same or as good as the book... I wish I could go to the movie, but with no transportation, I can't go.. and my family won't go to a "vampire movie".. so I will have to wait for the movie to come out on DVD.. Right now we are watching New Moon... my next pay check I will buy Eclipse.. it's on sale now... it was $25 and now it is down to $14.
I'm so wanting to see the wedding and how she got pregnant as a human by a vampire... and how the baby grows so fast and nearly kills her and the only way to save her is to inject her with vampire venom and turn her into a vamp. I hope all that is in the movie. I will buy the DVD.. but hope it has some of the great parts.. like Jacob and his warewolf friends beginning to accept the Cullens' due to their love of Nessie. I hope I won't be disappointed. I like the other movies I have.

Hi, chicksdigcars!
First off, i would like to share that I am one of those people who began hating twilight after seeing the second movie, new moon where Bella became unpleasant to me. From then on, i stopped watching twilight completely. Avoid it as much as I can.
Like the Harry potter movies, the movies can never compare to the books. Knowing that, it might be easier for us if we don't expect too much from a movie to begin with. This is what i did to cope with my harry potter movie disappointment. It's also applicable to other movies.
There are many negative criticisms i could give regarding twilight and it's characters but i'd rather not post it here. And it's not because i don't know that my rant would help me lengthen this response of mine and thereby increase my earnings somewhat.
It was part 1? and here i thought that it would be the last movie on twilight LOL. Thanks for the information though, i will tell my friend about that once i see her tomorrow. It's best to prepare her.
Happy mylotting!

Nah, I don't wanna upset people, especially the die-hard fans of twilight. If one of my favorite books or anime was negatively criticize, i would feel upset.
-sigh- it would have been fun though
Ah, and here i thought they would forever put a stop to making more twilight movies! LOL! Hahaha, sorry, i can't help thinking that. They should have stuck to the books, if only to make the movie better...
Evil Aja: hehe, is it even possible to make twilight good? what with the -censored-
Ahhh!! I should stop here! Sorry about that, chicks! Peace!

LOL! I really don't feel that disappointed at all! I really felt bad about ECLIPSE this way. I was feeling so bad as you are right now. In my case, i had read breaking dawn for more than 5 times just to get the feel of it again and again and it felt really great reading that book. The movies seriously never does justice what-so-ever to the books! Movies suck when they are adapted from the books.

they really do suck when they are adapted from books.
but do you know what the worst part is? when you are reading a really good book, and you WISH it was a tv series, or a movie, so you could see the characters in real life. then when they make a movie, we think it's rubbish haha!!

I have not seen the movie yer really wanted to. I did read all the books and honestly the movie never did the book justice in my opinion. Frankly I think the actors are just sick of the movies. They have lost the oh it's so cool to be in a movie thrill. I will still go watch breaking dawn but I already know I will be disappointed

for me, Breaking Dawn was the best of the 4 movies for the following reasons:
-they're make up was way better than the three since it's not that obvious compared to the previous movies.
-the effects are better, more realistic-looking.
-they're acting has improved. Not just the constipated look they had.
-they really tried hard to follow everything that Meyer described in the book.
The things that got me disappointed are:
-no bickering scenes of Jacob and Rosalie
-it lack depth. i mean it has depth but it lacks just a little bit.
-I wanted to see more of the movie.
All in all, I was not disappointed since it was better than New moon which got me bored at the middle of the movie. :D
But I guess we all have our opinions. :D

haha well if we didn't all have different opinions the world wouldn't go round :) lol!
can i address your points?
-they're make up was way better than the three since it's not that obvious compared to the previous movies - i disagree, i actually think breaking dawn made them look WAY too vampireish. they are meant to be living in society as humans. they would have been outcasted waaaaaaaay before this film if they had always been so noticably different!
-the effects are better, more realistic-looking. - ok i'll give you this one!
-they're acting has improved. Not just the constipated look they had. - do you think so? i thought they all looked the same. bella sickens me though. i'm sure she's a lovely girl, but i wish they had picked a more attractive person to play bella.
-they really tried hard to follow everything that Meyer described in the book. - i completely diagree, i think they left out loads!!
-no bickering scenes of Jacob and Rosalie - i missed this too actually!
-it lack depth. i mean it has depth but it lacks just a little bit. - it lacks it a lot. its very 2 dimensional compared to the book. there is no substance behind anything, it's like they have taken for granted that everyone understands now! but they shouldn't do that because in the first films they elaborated and explained. i think they got lazy this time.
-I wanted to see more of the movie. - haha strangely so did i ;) lol!

Ohhh no. Its really sad to hear that. None of my friends have watched it yet. So I did not get to hear any reviews. I also knew that the movie is not going to live up to the book. Because the True magic in twilight series is Stephnie Meyer. But at least I thought it would be worth a watch. :(
I have also read some critic reviews, which said the movie was worst of all the parts.
I had planned to watch it once the DVD comes out. At least I can do that much for my favorite series :).

it really was the worst movie out of all the 4 there is now. really was.
i mean don't get me wrong, i guess it is a good film, and if you never read the books it probably would be pretty outstanding. but as far as in relation to the books it was a major let down, because the previous 3 films did quite do the book justice!

I just watched Breaking Dawn Part 1 today. It was a last minute thing. Anyway, I agree that it was very slow and draggy, especially in the beginning. It was overly hyped. We hear so much about the wedding, and the wedding dress and such. As I was watching, I was wondering when the scenes going to change to something more exciting.
I have not read the book. But it does look like it was like the Part 1 of the last of the Harry Potter series. People did not think much of it. But Part 2 brought out all the explanations.
As I was watching Breaking Dawn, it felt that they were trying very hard to stretch one book into two series, which may or may not be necessary at all. It helped that the movie is split into two parts, this ensures the Twilight series remain popular for at least another year.

hi sydney.
i'm glad someone has agreed with me about how slow and draggy it actually is! lol!
but to your last point, about how the had to stretch one book into two films? thats actually not true. the last book actually IS in two parts. and the book is double, if not more, the thickness of the other books. so the fact they have made the last book, into two films, is actually correct.
however.. the parts the choose to display in the first film, and the parts they choose to keep for the second bit.. baffled me a little.

I have read the book myself and like you i feel disappointed too. Actually my opinion is that, they shouldn't have divided the movie in two parts because part 1 of the movie was really slow paced and i can't feel the emotion at all that i did while reading the book.

I guess that's really the bad part when you read a book. When you read a book, you have expectations. Reading books can really make you feel a part of the story. You'll know the characters deeply and you'll be able to feel them and so, you'll expect that what you'll see in the movies will be the same as what you've read in the book. But from what I have heard from those who have read the book, they have the same sentiments as well. Usually I think it's always like that. The movie is quite different from the book, that is why I don't really like to read because I will just get disappointed with how they'll create it into a movie.

such a shame because the books are fantastic. and to be honest with you, films 1 & 2 were EXTREMELY close to the book. the 3rd film had a few parts missing but this had TONS missing :(

Well, that's really sad to hear. That's what I really hate when I read a book, I feel disappointed when the movie they will be making will be different or will have lots of parts missing from what was written in the book. I just hope that part 2 will be different from that. I hope that it will be nice and worth watching.

the film was awesome.
but wasn't as good as the first three films.
and when you compare it to the books, it was REALLY bad.
so it wasn't really that the film was AWFUL.. just by comparisons it wasn't really that good lol!

I'll watch it on dvd. I read the book a while ago, and I thought even then that the movie just wouldn't be good. The book is just so, well, out there, that I couldn't see how they could turn it into a well arranged believable (in the sense of the twilight world) movie.

I think I preferred this one to all the others to be honest - I think though it was because I was waiting for the gory part where she gave birth so for me I couldn't wait to see how they would do that although they could have made it a higher age bracket and made it even more intense! Haha
@chicksdigscars (5483)

i do agree with you there.. the whole giving birth thing was quite an intense part to the film, and i also do agree with you that it did kinda reach out to an older age bracket too. but that isn't always a good thing considering a lot of avid twilight followers are teens!
