Life is about decisions. Everyday we have to make decisions like, "What will we do today? Where will we go? and etc.."
But guys, how will you deal with questions like, "Which is better the blue or red one?, Chicken or Pork? Cake or Steak? and the list goes on."
When you have difficulty deciding for two things, what is your decision making methodology in order to arrive to your final decision? Or how do you make decisions?
Please share your thoughts. Thank you. GOD BLESS and Happy Mylotting!

I'll explain through this example. For instance,if i have a thousand dollars I'll first buy a lap top or a household appliance. It is only when I have a heavy amount will i opt for luxury items.I prefer an item depending on its usefulness. With a laptop, you can do several things that will yield income.I'll first prefer items like this or investments which in turn can yield future returns.

You're a practical and wise spender then. Good for you! I have to ask though, how do you know that you prefer that thing over the other?

My decision will be based on many things like; what will I gain if I buy this insted of the other, which packing is more attractive, how much money Iam willing to spend, what is the quality, purpose and is there a need for me to buy it right now. There are usually alot of questions that come into my mind when I decide to buy something and the end result will depends on what conquer my mind after careful thinking.

So in short, you weigh things before you make decisions. But what if those two things weigh the same. They are at least almost the same if not equally the same. How would you go about that?

It is almost impossible to have such a decision. Mostly, when we take time to decide on a subject, is usually to compare and analyze them seriously and in most cases, there is always a preference. Otherwise, the decision making process without an answer becomes useless.

When i am caught between two decisions, i stop and think about them hard. I would consider their advantages and disadvantages. If one will give the most advantage, then i will be for it.
Though sometimes, when they both weigh equally, i ask my husband's opinion.

In cases with food, I always stick with my preferences when eating at a favorite restaurant but when in a new resto, I try to order foods that are way far from my comfort zone. I am adventurous when it comes to food.
I always follow my heart and if it fails me, I ask my friends for help. and then think about it for a bit and then decide.

That's nice. I also try new dishes when I'm at a new restaurant but I can't say that I'm as adventurous as you.
Wow! So you follow your heart always. I'm actually confused with following your heart rather than your mind. What's the difference about it anyway? Between lets say, Practicality(mind) VS Desires(heart) for example.
You're blessed to have good friends who are there to help you. That's great. They are life saver most of the time. Don't you agree? ^_^

Depends how important the decisions are.
If have to decide something from the everyday life (what to wear, what to eat, what to watch, what to read etc.) it's usually pretty easy for me.
But when something very important should be decided I usually take my time or discuss it with my family too and try to pick the best option.
Happy mylotting!

That's good for you. Things done routinely becomes easy to handle.
Yes it is good to ask for second opinions but does that mean that they are deciding for you? or is it you who decides in the end?

I have been faced with a lot of situations already that requires me to do a lot of decision making. There are times when I ask for advices from other people. The usual advices I get is to follow what's in your heart and that whatever decision you make, you have to make sure that you're happy with it. I always follow this advice and I hope this helps you as well.

I'm not too fast when it comes to deciding between two things. Sometimes, i resort to using coin tosses, let my friends or family decide for me or just grab the first option available to avoid wasting my time.
For more serious decisions, i weight and compare the benefits and the risk. I would choose the one with more benefits.
