Should ICC bring a change in ODI format & split it in 4 innings??

Do you think one day cricket should be played in four innings of twenty five over each instead of two fifty overs innings as it will make the format more exciting and will give a healthy competition to T20? Or you think it should remain unchanged .

This was an idea put forward by Sachin but rejected by ICC. As Ram said it has been discussed here many times. We cant predict whether it will be good or bad only if its tried. we should see matches in that format, then only we can say will it be good one? And we already have T20 cricket, so why to have another 25 over innings??

I think this discussion has come up many times in the past. The reason is that the idea behind this is Sachin. But ICC has made it clear that they do not want to try this formula in the international game. This format was tried in the Australia domestic season two seasons back but was not quite popular!! Cheers! Ram

If i am not wrong this idea of splitting the odi's into 4 innings was first proposed by the master blaster Mr.Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar to the ICC, But after a very long discussion on the topic ICC has rejected the idea. I personally feel that if this change happens the format will lose its charm, and moreover this will prevent the bowlers from getting a chance to bat. And more over that this would look like a test match played in a day.

surely, if this is going to be implemented, then many bowlers will not get batting. It will hide the talent of bowlers who can bat. And it will be like two T20 game played consecutively. then it will look more like a T20. openers or top order batsman get more chance to bat and score. so team total will depend more on them. will the players like Dhoni be able to show their batting capability? So i oppose this.
