I have a friend that seems to go overboard whenever we go out drinking. The night starts out pretty good but he starts throwing down drinks very quickly and within an hour or so he has to have someone making sure he is not getting into trouble or finding a random place to sleep in, and by the end of they night he is practically in a coma and unable to talk or walk without help. This seems to happen every other time we go out. He ends up ruining the night for many of us that go out with him. He usually realizes be went overboard and plays it safer the next time, but after one night of only a few beers, the next time hr js right back at it. He is an awesome dude to be around but no one really likes to babysit him instead of having a good time. I am not sure what we can say to him that will not upset anyone and still have him want to go out with us. Advice?

As they say it, "JOKES ARE HALF-MEANT TRUTH". So you better joke around when tell that to him. I am pretty sure that we will get it what you mean.
Things like that is really annoying when you are having fun and suddenly one of your friends needs to be babysitted because he cannot bear the situation.

I really like this idea. I am definitely going to try it, and just say some things about it jokingly and test the waters from there. Thanks, Mendoza.

If I were you ,I would tell the truth. According to what you wrote, I think he is your good friend and you have to tell the trute in order to keeping your friendship forever. In your heart ,there is a gap betweeen you and him. To talk to him in good situation

My friends tell me it is not a bad thing (Drinking) and the things being said about it are wrong. But I tend to think otherwise. When you are drinking, you are not in control. So it is very easy to go overboard. Try telling that to your friend the next time if it helps.
