I have Vertigo!

I went to bed Thursday night and when I turned on to my left side the room began to spin, as if I was drunk. So then I turned on to my right side and I was ok. However, when I got up in the morning needless to say something wasn't right. I was so dizzy. My doctor wasn't in so I went to the pharmacy and he prescribed ANTIVERT, the side effect though is being very sleepy. Its now Monday morning and I'm a little better but not 100%. I still have 6 more pills to take. Have you ever had this happen to you and if so what did you do?

I woke up once and crashed into the doorway as I stumbled out of bed from vertigo. The best I could do for myself since I was alone at the time was just fall into bed after having made my way to the bathroom to attend to business (I stumbled into many things on the way there and back0. It faded by the end of the day thankfully, but it was freaky, the way the world just seemed to off-kilter to my body.

You were lucky that it stopped by the end of the day. I'm dealing with this now for 5 days. It's getting alot better but I'm not at 100% yet and I need to be since I have a bunch of people coming for Thanksgiving Day dinner.

It is so horrible to deal with. You look like you are drunk or something. Its not a good feeling at all. Its like you can't focus and you are in a fog.

Yes this usually means I have a sinus infection that is effecting my inner ear. a pill to clear my sinus usually is perscribed.

I heard this before but I thought with a sinus effection you would feel pain. I just heard my dad had this problem and was prescibed a medication that also made him sleepy. He stopped taking it and the vertigo was gone within a month time. I just hope this doesn't last this long because I have to get on a plane in December.

I had vertigo once but it was an inner ear infection that was causing mine. I don't think it even hurt like I had one until a while after the vertigo. It's amazing how the ear can effect your balance so much. Anyway..I hope you are doing better now.

Thank you I'm doing alot better then I was but I'm still now at 100%. I think its my sinuses because my head is now starting to hurt me today. I took some sinus medication and I hope I wake up good as new tomorrow.

It's happened to my mom twice. She was so dizzy that she threw up! But they took her to her doctors and the doctors gave her a shot and prescribed her to vertigo meds. After the first time she just takes the vertigo meds and it goes away.

No, I never had it that extreme. I have it where I feel like the bed is spinning while I'm lying in it, but that usually goes away within seconds. Your vertigo sounds scary! I hope it goes away soon! I think I'd throw up if I was dizzy for that long!

Now after taking the medication when I lay down I'm not dizzy. Its only when I'm walking that it comes and goes. Very strange feeling to be going through this.
