What Are Your Triggers?

Once we start to deal with anxiety it helps if we know what our triggers are. Sometimes we can recognise what the trigger is but we might not know why it causes us a problem
I don't like being around immature and attention seeking people - this includes children and especially teenagers. I recognise that kids can't help it and I try to brace myself if I'm going somewhere kids will be, but I can't always know in advance how an adult will be acting.
I know this stems from my childhood where I had to put up with a lot of bullies and nasty kids so now they trigger me.
What triggers you? Do you have coping mechanisms or can you avoid the thing completely?

I have social anxiety so being around alot of people triggers mine. And loud and obnoxious people. I just stay away from people as much as possible. Or only go when I am strong enough to put up with them. Like how rude people are in the store and out in public. It is really irritating.

I'm not good with a lot of shouting, pushing, shoving and general aggression either - too much like a school hallway. It is often worse at this time of year because of all those people getting into the "Christmas Spirit" and going crazy when they are shopping!
Perhaps that is a little better in recent years with more people buying gifts on line but I still don't like to do a lot of shopping in Nov/Dec.

Hi hvedra: One of the things that triggers me a lot is having a lot of things to do. I am a perfectionist so the idea of having so many things to do can affect me a lot because I want to have everything done really fast. My anxiety increases when I have a lot of pressure to accomplish.
