When we define the word chance from the dictionary, it means an unplanned situation that occur. So how come that people believe in a second chance??? There is no situation that happens as exactly same as yesterday. We should say, "give us a second opportunity" instead!

Yes, "Give us a second opportunity" sounds much better than "Give us a second chance". I used to know a place called Second Chance Animal Rescue. It tried to give new homes to unwanted pets. It was where I used to live six years ago. If I visit a particular city today than next time things won't be the same. Every day presents something new like in the classroom as a teacher. Every day is different in a school as a teacher. If a child had been bad in the previous year I give him or her the chance to change for the better. Praise and showing his or her work on the wall can work wonders.

yes absolutely ur correct, there is no second chance ,thy were or we were using that for a long time,as it says that we should get another chance for doing something we had already done. You are going round the dictionary meaning but we use such words in this world.Any way you are right that we should say to give us another opportunity .
why should we go for a yesterday ,a second ago or a mins ago thing we do does not repeat again tomorrow or a second after.W e do everytime a different thing.

I don't see any difference between a chance and opportunity. There all kind of mean the same thing. Second chance mean having another opportunity to do or accomplish something which might not be exactly the same but may fullfil the needs that you had at first.
