To plan or not to plan

Have you noticed that when you plan things with your friends like going out, they don't really push through. But when you don't plan things, they just happen and you end up having fun with them unexpectedly. They say that things that happen unexpectedly are the best compared to those that are planned. Do you agree on that statement? Which is better? To plan or not to plan things? Share you thoughts and experiences. I would appreciate it very much. Thank you and GOD BLESS. Happy Mylotting. ^_^

It's always better to plan things ahead of time. Because you get to prepare for important things, like if you will need to go out of town... you better be prepared and all. Otherwise you'll end up crazily packing up things. But when going out, like just to watch a movie or go some place to hang out. I still like to plan. But I noticed that it don;t happen most of the time. Just like when we planned to watch a movie last Friday and it didn't happen. So until I was left here wondering when are we gonna watch that movie It can be so frustrating especially if I was so into the mood of watching that movie. And suddenly my friends says, hmmm I can't come... I really just wanna kick their a$$e$! But they're my friends so anyway... I just have to force them to come with me.

I agree enelynm that it's always better to plan things ahead of time. At least you can prepare what are those that are needed for the occasion. And just like you, i also get pissed , when the plan i had with my friend to watch "No Other Woman " didn't materialize as what we planned. Luckily, my daughter arrived for her semestral vacation, so i was able to watch it with her.

Seconded! Its always better to plan and be prepared in case things does not go according to plan. I also plan things ahead of time but it pisses me when they don't push through. A good example is when you and your plans have been dying to watch movies and they bail out when it's showing already. I hate it very much. I know how both of you feel. I have not seen Breaking Dawn too because I'm saving for Happy Feet 2. It's already showing and I'm excited to watch it. Actually, it's sad watching alone especially when it's romantic movies. -_-

Hello my friend. i think it is still necessary to plan ahead.however, it depends on what activity or endeavor you are going to dive in. if it is a very important activity related to your work, then planning ahead will really help.remember the saying that if you fail to plan, then you are planning to fail.on the other hand, if you are planning for a get together just like what you said, sometimes being spontaneous is much more worthwhile and enjoyable than being so deliberate and scripted.

hahaha.I missed your response.Actually, we no longer use ADPIE here in the hospital where I am currently working. We use narrative charting as mandated by the DOH to primary and secondary hospitals.however, in the former tertiary hospital where I underwent training, the FDAR approach is widely used.

Hi there co-RN! I'm sure you do a lot of planning - not to mention your ADPIE's. It's good to plan because it gets you somewhere but I think too much planning is also not good because you will never move on or it won't push through. Good point! I like your analogy about failing to plan and planning to fail. It makes sense to me. Based from experience, get togethers are better not planned and spontaneous. It's fun that way. You get surprised and you always thing of the unexpected when you're with crazy good friends ^_^

I agree with this as it happens to us- i mean me and my friends. Really irritating but a bit funny to think of. I myself don't understand it hehe why it happens. Thats why its better not to plan the gimiks or outing sometimes so everybody will come or so that it will push through. Well if its a big event of course its hould be well plane ahead of time. Happy mylotting!

It gets frustrating when people would bail out after you've planned things so well. But it's fun when things happen like a snap eventhough you did not plan for it. For gimiks, I have to agree that you should just go with the flow. But for important events, a plan is needed. Happy Mylotting to you too! ^_^

I have to make plans because I have a child. There is no just getting up and going out with friends. I do find it frustrating that I take the time to make plans for people to change them or to just cancel.

Too bad. That must be a bummer. You made the planning yet you don't get to be involved in the execution of your plans because you have a baby. You should do business with your friends and become an event planner for them. Hahahahh!! XD

I just try not to plan way too much and enjoy my days and now. Expect good things no matter what you are planning to do. And just live instead of wasting too much time planning. Have fun! :)

When I plan to go out something happens like rain. Therefore I have a better time if I wake up and feel like a lovely day out. I went to the pier and saw a friend. She asked me and my kids to sit with her. We had a great chat before the fireworks began. The fireworks against the sea was amazing. I hadn't planned to meet up with her but did so and it was an excellent evening. I used to plan my trips overseas in great detail but now I have more fun with doing what I like when there. Four days turned into eight nights in a stunning looking city you see.

That's nice to know that you had a wonderful time with your friend. Sometimes, it's fun to just let things happen instead of always making plans. ^_^

for adventure, i like not planning at all. but for formal activities, planning is necessary. planning itself can be fun. well, the adventure of not having a plan is a truism. one does not have to plan if one is after adventure and fun. anything that sounds fun is done. consequences will follow whether we like it or not.

I used to plan both but now, when it comes to adventure, I don't plan them anymore. It's fun to be surprised of the unexpected sometimes. ^_^

It actually depends on what event to plan. If it's something very important and that it must fall on the very date, then plans are necessary for the activity to become successful. But contradictory to it, if it's a weekend getaway or a trip that can take place at another time, then based on my experiences, it is always better to become spontaneous with it and just prepare for the needed items to be brought and go with the flow once you're with your significant others. I agree with you that with unplanned activities, they usually are more of a success than the planned ones. ;) Take care and God bless!

Before, I actually plan everything. I'm a worrier and I make plans so that if anything goes wrong, then I have plan B. I have to agree that when it's a very important event that should fall on that certain date, then you ought to make plans or else that event would be an epic fail. But you know what, someone actually taught me to go with the flow and be spontaneous. I never had to experience it until this year. He taught me to stop worrying too much and just be happy. ^_^
