Just reopened my etsy shop and am starting to get a lot of stuff uploaded but and stuck on ideas for increasing my traffic. I gave coupons to every employee at my daughters school, posted about it on my face book and even posted an ad on craigslist but have not seen much action. Has anyone got any other ideas. I really need this to pan out for me. Thank youin advance for any advise at all.

As well as Facebook you could consider Twitter. I have an Etsy Shop and as other people have said I post everything that goes in my shop on my Facebook page for my shop. The Facebook page is also linked to the twitter account so anything that I post there will appear on Twitter without me having to double post.
Are you active on team on Etsy? I find that I get a lot of traffic just through posting on teams creating treasuries and adding people to my circle. My first month I didn't do any of that but after I spent time doing it I got a lot more traffic.
Hope that's helpful!

I have a friend who makes jewelry and she posts a photo on Facebook of every single piece she makes along with a link to the place she's selling them. I haven't bought anything from her (yet) but that's just because money has been tight recently. Still, she has made some beautiful pieces and, even though I make jewelry myself and have made my own for years, there are some things of hers that I would buy in a flash if I had the money.
Maybe you could do the same and post photos of everything you are selling. Someone might see something you've actually made and realize they can't live without it. You never know!
Now that I think about it, add photos to the coupons you give out and leave them everywhere you go. Right now, promoting them as excellent Christmas (or Hannukah or Kwanzaa) gifts would be a good idea.

I think this FB thing is going to have to happen. Most of my stuff ends up being one of a kind as I design as I create and can rarely recreate the piece because is was "in the zone" and have no clue how I came to the final work after it's done.
I feel the tight $ bit girl there are a few shops I watch and drool over but can not afford to buy from. There is one that makes beaded spiders and other bugs that are AMAZING.
I didn't think about doing random coupon drops though... hrm I wonder if the HOA would let me leave them in the community club house. Thanks for the ideas.

It's funny that you posted this, as I put up the topic my nephew/son (it's hard to classify that one as I'm raising him and consider him my son) told me he would help me create a FB account for the store it self. I so did not think you could do that but I guess a lot of people do it. So grateful for techy kids.

No advice. Just reading your posts under this discussion as I am considering my own shop and wanted to see what tips everyone has given you. How have things worked out for you since you opened your account?
