Every country has its own culture. We may share some similarities but there are really some that will stand out, making our culture unique among the rest. What are these specific cultural practices you think are unique to your own? Are you proud of this culture and why? Let me start with one. I am a Filipino and I think one cultural practice we have is the close family –ties. Some us do have 3-4 generations living together. Depending on one’s status in the community, this practice can either bring good or bad effect. Families below poverty line will definitely experience some challenges compared to those who are well-off.

My Malay culture is very much influenced by the Indian culture and religion specifically Hinduism because a long time ago, many Indians migrated to Malaysia and cross-cultural influences happened from the food that we eat to the clothes that we wear and ceremonies like the wedding ceremony is very much influenced by the Indian culture. One cultural tradition that is still practiced and very much influenced by the Indian culture is the wearing of henna by the bride and groom for their wedding. Both the bride will wear henna on their hands and feet to indicate that they've just been married. Nowadays, young people wear henna for cosmetic purposes.

I agree. Henna tattoo is now gaining so much popularity around the world for fashion and cosmetic purposes. It's amazing to realize that things we may be doing will have a totally different interpretation when viewed by another person belonging to a different culture.

I think my country's culture is very unique. First, we have a long time in history. And this makes our culture special and outstanding. Such as our buildings, words, food culture etc. are very fabulous. Besides, our land is large and it can create many nice things. And we locates in the east and it is far away from the west. So the difference is very attractive. I love China

This is actually something that is hard for me to answer because of the fact that I'm from the United States and being from here means that there is a large mix of cultures since this is a melting pot. With that said, I find that the main thing that people concentrate on in the United States is getting ahead. Many times, this is something that is a detriment to the family life.

I think one of the customs or culture of the Filipinos , is patting the front of the hand of the older one to the forehead of the younger one, as a way of greeting. It is one custom that an American uncle of ours are really very proud of, specially when his nephews would make that to him . Mano PO!

Hi there mate. I'm also a Filipino. One of the many traits we have that makes us unique is our hospitality. We are very accommodating even to strangers especially those in need. It's like serving others is innate to us no matter where we are and what status we have.
