Hello Mylotters,
So last night my husband was in a minor car accident. He is just fine, but this fender-bender really made think about the way people drive their cars!
I guess what I am wondering is why people turn into crazy people the moment they get behind the wheel of the car or a truck? If you were waiting in a checkout line at a McDonalds and the person in front of you did not move up to the register quickly, would you run them down? Would you scream in their ear? Would you get right up behind them in hopes of them moving faster?
I think not. I just wonder why peole think it's OK in a car. It is actually the most dangerous thing most of us do every day!
Any of you have any thoughts on this subject? Do you drive crazy??

Not many have noticed but driving can be a stressful thing to do. I mean, your senses must always be on the high, being conscious on the vehicles in front, at the back and on the sides of the car your driving. Your eyes and ears are fully alert. Your hands always steady on the wheel, and if you're driving a stick-shift car, your hands and legs should coordinate well. I guess you could say you're whole body is working even if you're not conscious about it. So if you're not that physically and mentally fit, you'd easily succumb to stress. That I think is what makes some drivers crazy.

Thank you Beamer, for your response. I had not really thought about that aspect because I am not really a stressed out person, but most people are! I just think it is so nuts to be so agressive! Don't people realize it is so dangerous because you are driving a 2000 pound car that could kill someone?

no, i dont drive like crazy, accidents comes in split seconds and once accidents happen you can't find any undo button to go back the way before. and in US alone more than 43,600 road accidents is happening yearly and its taking many lives and destroying properties. and all this thing could be prevented if we drive responsibly.

I am a very careful driver, and tend to feel a bit aprehensive when there is a lot of traffic around me. I think that it is best to get from point A to point B safely rather than to drive carelessly and chance getting into an accident. It drives me nuts when I see people driving carelessly and acting as if they just don't care about their own safety or the safety of any one around them.
In my opinion, when a person is driving, they need to do their best to sta focused and aware on the road. That vehicle can potentially be a deadly weapon, and that is not something to take lightly.

And we just get to the reason why I tend to remain off the road only when absolutely necessary. There are just a lot of insane drivers out there. And it's not like there is a lot of incentive around here to drive in a normal manner, as the law enforcement is not much better. But there are a lot of insanity. I've seen my share of wrecks on the road right along my house and I'm honestly surprised that more have not happened.
I don't drive crazy but then again, I don't drive much. There are just going to be a lot of people out there who think they are invincible. And many times, it's not them who gets punished for their bad driving, it's some innocent person who is trying to obey the rules of the road but they get messed up. It is frustrating how things work like that sometime.

I am quite a safe driver and never like disturbing others or getting distturbed but you know people around us on the roads are a mixture of some angles and demons so are very nice drivers and some are just fools controlling steering. Here in India the worst so called drivers and the Public Bus drivers, the auto drivers(CAB) and these are the worst the bi-cyclist.The last two mentioned and just fools that they dont mind what is behind them and just fall in front of you.The first and recent accident I had was when i was passing a signal a cyclist had come in front of me and i just gave him a huge ram and lucky he survived it or i might br behind the bars now.I wonder when will these fools go extint??
