Every now and then I am craving for potato chips, especially at night while watching tv/movies! I know it is unhealthy, but do you know any healthier option that I can eat that is store bought ready to eat or atleast very easy to prepare and is not expensive?

What exactly draws you to eating the chips? The saltiness? The crunch? You can always get baked potato chips, which are slightly healthier. I replaced eating potato chips with rice cake snacks, which are much healthier and give me the crunch I loved while still packing flavor, but I still splurge on chips once in a while. Kettle corn can be a decent occasional snack, too.

The taste and the feeling of "satisfaction" while eating potato chips draws me. Kettle corn are Popcorn right?

Yep! Kettle corn is just a bit sweeter than popcorn, though. You could also eat baked cheetos. I think in your case you might want to try vegetable chips, which are pretty much potato chips but made out of other veggies. They're pretty tasty, but it's one of those love or hate things.

Change it to slices of apples? I know when one craves something it has to have that something. I am no different than you, often I crave to crunch nuts when watching movies... I changed it to seeds...

Those are healthier. Maybe slicing apples thinner to make it better.

I am a huge fan of crunchy, munchy chips myself! I just know they are bad for me, so I try to limit myself as much as I can. I really like rice cakes, and they come in tons of different flavors, including caramel and cheese! I also would get yourself a hot air popcorn popper. This is a very way to make a cruchy and quick snack, and you can choose how much butter and salt you want to put on that way! Good luck!

I am not a fan of rice cakes, maybe because we eat rice atleast 2x a day! But isn't popcorn as unhealthy as potato chips too? I only eat microwavable popcorn..

Always check the label that says, baked not fried. It might be a good alternative.

Since you mentioned the potato chips, it is better to eat boiled potatoes than eating a lot of potato chips that is ready made which sometimes mixed with preservatives and this monosodium glutamate (MSG). I don't know if you heard of sweet potato delight, it is mixed with milk and special ingredients from a mashed sweet potato after boiled, then it is placed in a moulded rectangular small box type plate and place it in the chiller for a few hours.

I LOVE Dorittos nacho flavored chips! I could sit and eat the whole bag! However, I know they are not good for me! But...do I deprive myself and make myself miserable? No...I just take out about 6 chips for lunch every day and savor them as long as I can and enjoy them and am happy the rest of the day. I got to the point... 6 every other day and now to the point where they don't scream "EAT ME!!!!" as I pass the cabinet and a bag lasts me 2 weeks! Dieting and watching foods and healthy are all great and fine, but depriving yourself of something so wonderful that you love, often does more damage than good...so use moderation and common sense...eat a few of them once a day and taper off. It works.

I suggest healthier options like granola bars, apples, yogurt or bananas.

Well, I guess you switch to carrot sticks or vegetable salad with mayonnaise dressing.

The closest alternative is sweet potatoes. Just a bit sweeter, a little more moist when baked or deep fried but it's a good replacement for taste and it's far more better on vitamins, mineral, health in general, calories&fat. It's how I replaced my chips completely, sweet potato chips all the way :)

Well, there is always fruit, or what I do sometimes, rice cakes. They come in different types, like cheddar flavored or regular. I think they are less calories, less fat, less everything. And you could spread butter on them, or cream these or even peanut better.

Yes, they make those roasted chips. You can find videos online. They can be made from carrots to anything. Take a grease paper. Make thin slices using a peeler. Fold the paper in a zig zag manner. Like one to the front, another fold to the back. Now place those slices on top. Add your flavor like salt or whatever. Use a microwave to roast them. Voila!

fry groundnut and mix with (SARKARA)sugar paste it is healthier and easy to cook. the bad effects( gas problem) of groundnut rectify the sugar(sarkara) content. It is not so expensive. The most of the food items if we use in control it is not at all unhealthy. Too much of eating is unhealthy.
