Personally I like to blend in a little bit of both. We always have the turkey and used to have ham too but changed to roast or some other meat. For health reason's. Usually have stuffing and cranberries with rolls, and scalloped corn, some pies too for desert and of course black olives and gravy too. Mashed potatoes, this year though I must be more careful so I am adding rice and turkey with a little gravy I made a special low calorie Mouse chocolate coconut flavor with lite whipped topping too. Mom, is staying more traditional to keep others happy who don't have to be as strict as me for there health now. The mouse is since I cannot eat pie crusts, also a lemon merigne pie that I will not eat the crust from. No breads or potato's either. If you suffer from cycts or other nasty pains like stomach ulcers, you may choose too keep your Thanksgiving Holiday safer and happier like me this way too. Oh, and I will be enjoying those cranberries for sure! Try sparkling cider too and or ginger ale works wonder for me for sure. These are some Holiday tips of mine for now, until I learn some more of course. Plus, try buying a weight Watchers cook book wonderful and yummy desert and other main dishes in there too. Thanks,A.B.
