Many parents lose courage when they discover that their babe has the down syndrome symptoms. Often this case become traumatic even for the separation of the couple or going into deep discouragement and depression. Some may consider the down syndrome child as unwanted. Even the family members may go into deep depression. But we human being are born not to go into depression but to face life with courage and find out alternatives.
We need to treat the down syndrome child like any other normal child. The parents need to feed, dress, diaper, cuddle, hold, talk to, play with and love the baby with great commitment. The baby also may have some health problems that require extra care. We need to watch over the child constantly, and accompany it with a lot of patience and devotion.
Those who have a child with down syndrome, its not easy to live with the relatives and the society. Some parents feel humiated before others who have the normal and intelligent children. But the parents with down syndrome children have nothing to feel humiliated of. They need to take it as a challege and as a mission to shape the life of the child and assure security even for the future. They need to stimulate the child to collaborate in all normal activities and be the able educators rather than to be the parents who feel pity for it and spoil the child's development.
The down syndrome children may act as hyperactive or as morose and inactive. Both natures are to be educated. The hyper active child may act very stubborn, strong and it may become difficult to handle. But the parents need perseverance to be firm as well as loving and caring in the process of training such children

Down syndrome can be traced by outward or physical facial appearance, physical behavior and assuming learning or comprehension capacity of the child. Majority of the down syndrome children will be fat. Their face can be singled out by the shape as flat and we can notice someyhing strange in the eyes. There will be an upward slant to the eyw. The child will be fat with short neck. The ears will be small . The child will have protruding tongue. The feet will be broad and the toes will be short. It will have short stubby fingers and a fifth finger or pinky that curves inward.
The down syndrome child will be mentally retarded. Even though it will reason there will be some anomaly in comprehension. The child will have physical ailments
- like Congenital heart disease, Hearing problems, Intestinal problems like blocked small bowel and eye problems. These children need speech theraphy, occupational theraphy for psychomotor developement. Their speech will have a particular tone and they may pronounce the words defectively.

I have friends with children who have Down Syndrome, and it's not easy, but people can live a normal life if they have it. I have seen plenty of people live normal lives with Down Syndrome, and there are even actors and actresses with the condition. It's a very random, genetic condition, and there is still research being done on it because it is a hard condition to perform research on.

Yes they are just children the same as others but I feel more loving children, they have sweet souls and deserve to be loved and respected, I have often thought I would like to work with down syndrome children, they have a lot to offer in this world, bless them all.
