Many suffer insomnia. Today due to computer work almost all go to bed late and lose their normal sleeping habits. But man can try to regulate his sleeping habit. It is very ideal to do some heavy physical exercises or play outdoor games and get tired. A warm water bath is very ides. One must avoid drinking stimulating drinks like coffee, tea or liquor. Some may get fast asleep when they are drunk. But drinking is not a healthy habit.
One must eat moderately in the evening. Taking a glass of warm milk is very ideal to fall asleep.
One must program his mind when he is alone and is deep in thought. He must repeat some affirmations like "Toonight when I go to bed I fall asleep very fast". One may feel free to make up his own phrase to compose a positive affirmation.
Today many programs are available in the internet. If you open the YouTube you can find many strips of subliminal music, self hypnotism music and affirmations which will stimulate you to sleep. You must repeat it every night before retiring to bed.
Some have a very good habit of reading books and fall asleep.
The motivation power works miracles and we can obtain want wed desire for.

I hope I can program myself to sleep early every night. No matter how I try to tame my eyes to sleep, it just doesn't work. Early to bed early to rise is what I am hoping for but unfortunately my insomnia gets the better part of my nights. I've seen the doctor about my insomnia problem and asked him for sleep inducing tablets and all he gave me was tablets for flu which he think will make me drowsy after taking it. He refused to prescribe sleeping tablets for fear that I will be dependent on it.

friend
please try to browse YouTube program and on search engine bar please write delta level music for night sleep. Then listen to the music, follow the instructions, you feel drowsy. Repeat this every night befor you retire to bed. Also pray according to your faith in God. Then see when your sleep improve.

That's very well composed post on the topic with quite useful tips.
No matter how hard working or tiring the work has been that may prevent sleep, I have a practice of some quick, soothing relaxation once I get into bed. I try breathing correction. It is like this: For mind & body to experience perfect synchronicity, smooth, deep and uniform breathing is necessary. While engrossed in multitude of activities, we lose track of the rhythm of breathing which is one of the causative factors for extreme stress. The best thing one would do is even while doing intense activity, periodically turn attention to breath pattern and try quick correction. When I go to bed after work, I try to focus my mind on breathing & breathing alone [difficult for the wandering nature of mind, but that's the key] and first try passive normalization. Once I am able to get mind & breath aligned, I try to rectify short breath, irregular cycle, jerk and hurried breathing by positive control and establish deep, smooth & uniform breathing. While I am doing this for some time, I would normally be

You have a very great response. I think I would try this at home. I'm also having a hard time to fall asleep. I think I'm having an insomnia now maybe due to some computer works. I do make my part-time every night. This suggestion of yours look very effective. We have to relax ourselves to fall asleep easily. Good response!

I have kind of the opposite problem, not so much not being able to fall a sleep, but waking up at weird and wonderful hours. I generally don't have difficulty falling asleep when I go to bed, although a few years ago that was a different story I could not fall asleep easily but now I sometimes go to bed quite early say 9 or 10 at night because I am so sleepy and tired and fall asleep immediately but then quite often I will wake up at 1 or 2 in the morning and toss and turn for a while then finally give up and get out of bed. The disadvantage is there is not much to do at that time, going out or doing things around the house are not really easy as most people are asleep so you don't want to interrupt their sleep, so invariably I end up on the computer. Though I get a reasonable amount of sleep between 4 to 6 hours, so I am rested and I don't suffer from the classic tiredness of lack of sleep, my sleep is just a little off the usual time people sleep.

People whom try and failed to sleep in the night, have some reasons for that:
having a lot of work that get their bodies so tired, do not organize their work and always thinking for problems which they do not have clear plan for its solution and in addition get their minds are busy for what they shall do at next day morning. I recommend the following advice to get god and deep sleeping in the night:
Try to get your dinner early before your sleep as possible as you can.
try to wright in your note book what you should doing in the next day. So, you do not think for during your sleeping time.
Take a warm water bath before sleeping.
Drinking any warm drinks, but all prefer warm milk.
Laying in your bed in relaxing position
Do not take any tablets to help you in sleeping, that has an opposite effects.
Have a good night

I agree with you. Too many programs now can steal our time in front of a computer. Just like me, I just finished playing computer games with my friends. It's already late night here, 1:17am, and I'm still awake!

Yes I agree that the present lifestyle is actually causing a lot of imbalance in our body.
For a healthy Lifestyle i's Important that we get a very good sleep which also relaxes our mind But these days sleeplessness is one such issue which is haunting many people.
Even I prefer drinking a glass of milk half an hour before retiring to bed, that will induce good sleep...
Wishing all mylotters a very Healthy life

I am a chronic severe insomniac and oh, how I have suffered! I could not go to sleep until 8:30 a.m and could only sleep off and on until 11:30 a.m. There is nothing more that i can do. I possibly will be able to take nap later but that is unlikely. But tonight, I probably will "collapse" early.
I have been diagnosed as having Primary Insomnia I, a neurological problem.
In he past hypnotherapy has helped. Massage sometimes helps and sometimes meditation.

I could never say I suffer insomnia. But since I' am working in an idustrial area where quarters are within the vicinity. I find it difficult to sleep at night. I think I am now a sleep deprived person.
I can't wait to get home and have a well sounded uninterupted long hours of sleep.
