There are still few of them!

People now a days would not return a wallet fallen from a person even though the person is just nearby looking for his/her missing belonging, at least not all people are like that evil yet! a young boy returned my wallet containing lots of money and i thank him and offer him a few cash, but he refused. Thinking that he already took some of the cash inside, i looked inside my wallet and surprisingly, nothing is missing and not a single peso bill was missing. after experiencing this gives me the thought that it's never too late for the world to change for the better like the kid who pure-kindheartedly returned my wallet and didn't even asked for a reward.

Last week I saw a woman with a small child. She dropped her purse trying to carry her child, groceries and her purse at the same time. Unfortunately, when her purse dropped all the things spilled out, including money, all over the floor. I stopped and helped her to pick up her things, including the money, while other people just walked around us. At first, I think that she thought I was just going to take the money and walk off, but when she realized I was really helping her she seemed both surprised and relieved. I guess that many people expect the worst out of others these days. I am very happy when I hear a story like yours, though, because it means that there are still good people out there.

Thank you for your kind words.
I actually knew what she was going through, because I have children as well. There were plenty of times where I wished that I had at least two extra arms to take care of everything, so it seemed only natural to help out. What really surprised me was that nobody else seemed to think to do it, especially since there were several people that just walked around or stepped over the things on the ground and kept going.

Purpleblaster-- good. If you have more hands you will help more people. great. Many times things are lost without the knowledge of ourselves. Sometimes others pick them up and use. Most occasions they may lie down without being used by others also. Further it should land in the hand of a person who can use it. Of course money --anybody can use it and in spite of it the person returning it is to be appreciated.

Kudos to you who also have clean intentions of helping out a person in need.
People like you should be a reason that it's not too late to change for the better.
May people around you see you as a example to be a better person to anyone who's in need. Have a nice day!

Welcome to mylot. This world consists of 80% good people and 20% bad people. That is why things are moving the way as it goes now. In this regard poor people are more sensitive-- they will not accept money which they have not earned. That is why the man has refused when you gave.
On the contrary middle class or upper class -- will accept whenever another person gives ex-gratia. Poor people are great in one way.

Yes. This again depends on perception. This 80/20 rule is applied in most situations.
80% of wealth of a country is with 20% people-- likewise.

Yes, there are indeed kind souls in this world. Not everybody is as greedy as what we think of them to be. It's even harder to see young boys and girls being sensible enough to return lost belongings when they are usually shy to strangers. I'm sure his parents have taught him well and it's reflecting on the society. He ought to pass his mindset to rest of his peers, allowing him to follow into his footsteps, making this world a better place, putting adults to shame.

Hello Hydraloth,
Thats right there few of them who do return wallet or anything to the person which it belong to.
I remember an incident when i was in State bus and a coin fell from the hand of a lady she was searching it everywhere under the seats but could not find it then i saw a person who took it and kept it in his pocket, lady could not see it because that fellow kept his foot on the coin and when that lady sat on the seat and stopped searching it he took it.
People these days have been dishonest may be because of the increasing inflation, poverty and unemployment but they should be honest as it always pay you back somewhere sometime.

You're lucky the one who saw your wallet is a good boy. If I lost something, money or any expensive things I would not also expect that someone will return it to me. Nowadays a lot of people are so greedy. My brother and his friends had lost a bag containing their stuff, it has an mp4, a wallet and ATM card. They're in a bar that time and when they asked the security. Fortunately they got the bag... but it was emptied, nothing left inside the bag

I feel bad for your brother, i wish that the person who took the things inside your brother's bag away will have a corrupted and unfair life for stealing things that aren't his/her.
I know that when you loose something from this kind situation, will get them back in double. God has ways. Cheer up! ^_^

yes I also believed in that... so we just let them enjoy those stuff they get. And mostly people who steals things won't get any further in life.

Yes, there are still nice and good people around. I have once lost my thumb-drive, and I thought I will never get it back anymore, but that day afternoon, I received a call from a boy said that he has found my thumb-drive. And from the information that I had in the thumb-drive, he manage to find my cellphone number and call me. and he even arranged a continence time for me to collect back the thumb-drive from him. Just like you, I wanted to treat him with some drinks but he refused, he just mentioned that that is what he should do when found others belonging. Really, there are still many good and nice people out there.

That is so nice! I wish there were more people like this. My husband is one of them. The cashier at the gas station didn't charge us enough for things we were buying and instead of being happy and walking away like most people would my husband went back in and gave her the right amount that she should have charged us. =) He is so amazing like that, I love that about him. He has a GREAT heart.

wow! that's great.
true, it's never too late to change.
and that kid just show how we should head start the change.
it should come from with us.
that's a miracle we should be reminded of that God still works in our lives everyday.
God has made you experience that because he wanted you to share that experience which you never failed to share.
