I think a first date should be casual and public. That is, it should just be a meeting at a cafe or restaurant that is not too extravagant. The first date is really when you get to know someone. Most people aren't that romantically attached to each other on a first date, so I don't think it should be overly romantic. It should be fun, but casual.

i don't think a first date with anyone needs to be extravagant. Low key and casual is great. All that matters is that the two have fun together and go on a second date!
