I have not long brought myself an adult's colouring book as my children have been colouring again and I so wanted to join in.
I don't really think they are adult colouring books but just very hard colouring books for teenagers, I actually brought two colouring books, one has a coloured picture on my side and just the outline on the facing page so you can copy the colours if you so wish, the other colouring book is full of hard patterns, bit like mosaic patterns. I have also brought a very nice set of colouring pencils.
I tell you what it is really nice and relaxing to sit and colour.

I know lots of adults who enjoy coloring and drawing. It is relaxing and is a good way to release some of your creativity. The action of making the smooth strokes is almost mesmerizing. I really enjoy anything that has to do with color. I love fabrics and sewing and painting things as well. It is really a great thing to do .

That is really so nice, I should also try to find it in my locality if I could find them. I too would be able to sit and join my sisters company. They both are busy coloring all the time.

Yes it is enjoyable to do coloring jobs. I also do enjoy coloring. It is just like going back to my childhood days. The only difference is that I can't really spend more time in coloring books now because I have lots of other things to do. I wish I have more free time so I could do more coloring jobs with my little ones.

I used to really enjoy coloring. You using 'adult' made think they were X-rated or something and it reminded me of a cute story. Back in the late 70's and early 80's I worked at the local telephone company and ran around with a great bunch of guys and gals. A bunch of us were invited over to our polish friend's house for a Christmas party. SHe had drinks and had baked cookies and had a big Christmas tree all decorated and the place was very festive indeed. As we each came in she would show us around her home. One type of cookies she had fixed were gingerbread men and she had decorated some and then we could decorate some too if we liked. Well, there were ooh's and ahh's and histerical laughing because her gingerbread MEN were decorated so they were muscle bound and very well endowed. She was such fun!

As a youngster I absolutely LOVED colouring books and I would use felt tip pens to colour with. Occasionally, I would use crayon but most of the time it would be felt tips..good ones too that lasted ages, unless my brother kept pulling the tops off. That drove me nuts which is why he did it lol.
I remember colouring in cartoon characters, that type of thing. I wouldn't draw as I was useless at it but on the inside of the cover it was all white so I would draw an all-over pattern. It's a shame I didn't get into textiles as I've seen a similar pattern (black and white) on a 2-in-1 top of mine.
I agree that it's a relaxing thing to do.

Mine were kept in a long, thin tin container and the lid had the corresponding image of the felt tip underneath. My brother used to mess the order up, something I can laugh about now but didn't at the time!

I love coloring and drawing and always find time for it, sometimes I would draw with my pen even when I am writing something, I do it with excitement that does not differ when I was a kid, I help my children color and teach them not to cross lines when coloring

I think most parents revisit their youth with their kids, I notice that with my cousins that they start doing things that they haven't done since they were young. I used to love colouring in as a child, I had pencils, crayons and felt tips that I mixed and matched to give texture to my drawings I really had fun, but as I grew older I would print patterns and colour in patterns to use as personalized wrapping paper or I would buy plain exercise books then personalize them now I generally use my computer for my artwork. I unfortunately cannot draw I have tried and failed miserably to paint, but I have a lot of friends that often paint for fun, you could try maybe you have the touch and with pastels and watercolours it is like colouring in so it could be quite relaxing too.

I love coloring when I am in the mood for it. I don't necessarily get adult coloring books, but I do the teenager ones.

I was never much of the artistic type, even now I can barely draw for my life, but coloring and doodling are enjoyable. I don't really take the time to make something look good, I just kind of scribble a bit. Maybe I should get myself a coloring book one of these days.

LOL! You are growing up all over again, girl. But it's fun.
Like Hatley, I too like to work on designs, which I only do when I have some free time and when I need it. I don't quite enjoy colouring, but I like do work on crossword puzzles or other kinds of puzzles or maybe sudoku.

I enjoy coloring in coloring books. I bought my daughter and I some Cinderella coloring books, for when we are in the mood for coloring. I like coloring with crayons, but I also have colored pencils too.

O dear what are you up to now Anne. You never cease to amaze me, your dumping hi-tech and now your back to colouring books. You should have applied for that column writing job at least it would have been an original. When I was young and learning recorder, Dad bought himself a larger one made of plastic and tried to teach himself to play. He didn't succeed but I think he had fun trying.
Hope you enjoy your colouring.

i think i have seen similar ones at our department store at the office supply section. i have to admit that i have no talent whatsoever in drawing and sketching, but if i would one day like to sit down and try to draw something, i would indeed go for your kind of sketch book. i can defnitely learn something from just making use of the outlines.

I like to color with my kids but I do not think that I would want to color without them. I would get bored coloring. I'd much rather sit and read. My daughter is doing a beautiful coloring right now for her cousin for a fairy. Shes using colored pencils and its turning out beautiful.

Doing things what your children are doing is acceptable. If you enjoy doing it, why not. It is always fun to go do the things we used to especially if it brings some fulfillment and fun.
I haven't found any coloring book specifically for adults but it does not matter if you do coloring with children's books.
Perhaps it would be more fun if you do the mosaic puzzle with your children. It would a great bonding moments for you. Aside from it is a relaxing activity for you, it also stimulates the creative part of yourself. Playing with colors is really fun and therapeutic. Enjoy it.

I sell a lot of these coloring books for older kids (younger ones, too) -- the Dover educational coloring books. I actually never thought of coloring some of them myself. I'm more tempted to keep my mind alive by working the logic puzzles in the books to teach children logic and critical thinking. Got to keep the gray matter alive.
What I really enjoy is working in my Zazzle stores and designing products from my photos. It's so exciting when someone likes something I've designed enough to buy it. In fact, I think I'll go make some puzzles and decorative plates tonight. Those are fun. I want to use some of my autumn vineyard scenes for that.

I like coloring books even the one for kids. It is indeed relaxing and it is a nice feeling of giving life to those drawings. Plus it is a good bonding moment for me and my kids.
