Reading increases our vocabulary. We will be able to explore different places and different times. It even broadens up our knowledge about the things in our surroundings.
Whenever I have some spare time, I go get something to read and I find it satisfying as I learn new things and new words and widen up my knowledge even without being the genius type.

Reading is one of my main passions in life. I cannot go by a week without reading a good novel, especially on a weekend. I read different genres, as long as the storyline is nice. Even when I am traveling, I always have to bring at least 2 to 3 books. Because of reading, I was able to gain a deeper knowledge about different things, like my vocabulary, random trivia, history of places, etc.

There is a great adv antage in reading a lot. You need not necessarily understand the vocabulary for every word. But when read the whole content you understand the matter even though not perfectly. By reading subcosciously you store that experience. And when a occasion comes you repeat those words or sentences. Those who hear you may get surprised how you know this. This is a way of learning indirectly. After years experience you master the language to a good level

I have also found reading to be very inspirational to my creativity and imagination. It is also good for bonding with children & reading groups.
People that use word searches, word matching games, crosswords etc. also get increased brain skills. I keeps the brain functioning strong and by constantly gaining knowledge it helps with communication, confidence etc.
Reading is an awesome thing. I lost interest over the last ten years until I started College in my 30's and now I love it. I don't have much time at all for general reading but I do read weekly for school work.
Do you have a fav. book? My current fav is To Kill A Mocking Bird.
