Tonight my son's middle school held a wonderful Thanksgiving event. We were to arrive at 5pm and join half of the city we live in to eat a nice Thanksgiving dinner all served to us by volunteer's & school staff. We were also provided tea, water or punch. We were able to have a choice of deserts, anything from a cookie to a pie slice or cake slice. The mean consisted of white & dark turkey meat, mashed potatoes & gravey, green beans, stuffing and some cranberry sauce. It was not too bad. I felt overwhelmed with everyone that turned out. All different types of people from all financial classes. Kids of all ages and same with the adults. After dinner we were able to enter a game room where they the kid's played games for prizes and they had jumping castles for the younger one's. The adults were all given raffel tickets and a drawing was done. I didn't win anything but two of the people I was with did. One got a gift certificate to Kingsoopers and one to Target. Both $25.00. VERY NICE. I couldnt believe the great effort, generosity, support & kindnes that went into this event for everyone. I plan next year to help with food and catering myself. I would like to help out next year because there was def. not enough help for the turn out they had. I don't think that they expected that many families to come. It was a great experience and I hope that your kid's schools do the same thing or start. Anyone have a similar experience as me this Thanksgiving?

Yes I think so too. Iam a little bummed that I did not get to a homeless shelter or the vetrans or the elder's home to help make dinner and serve it. I think we are going to set that up for Christmas instead. I hope you had an wonderful Thanksgiving!
