Your idea of FREEDOM

Friends I would request you all to share your ideas as to what does FREEDOM mean to you. The idea differs from individual to individual. FREEDOM to a small child would mean to be freed from the restrictions of parents and teachers and get rid of exams and play all the time. A teenager would seek FREEDOM from the bondage of restrictions and enjoy life according to his wish. Do all that he is forbidden to do.Watching adult movies, reading adult books or surf adult sites. FREEDOM to a housewife would mean to get rid of the daily hectic household chores, handling husband, child/children and even the in-laws and to breathe fresh air and enjoy life as she used to do in her college days. A sick person would always seek FREEDOM from his/her illness and want to live a life like all other healthy people. An old person unwanted in the family or bed-ridden due to oldage diseases would seek FREEDOM from the clutches of diseases if not from life.
What is my idea of enjoying FREEDOM ?
I like to , atleast for a day if not for life , go out and be in the greenery with the sky above me and play with small children. To get drenched in the rain while I sing and dance or on a sunny day try to catch butterflies and hum with the birds. Go beyond the sight of human beings ,cross the valley and go on and on and then climb the hills and go beyond and then come to a small beck and drink water and refresh myself and not called back from behind until I reach my dreamland. May be this will sound utopian to all.But I really want to enjoy life like this and this is my FREEDOM from this mundane life.

For me, freedom means that I can do all I want. I am free and nobody would stand in front of me to restrict me. I am a loner person. I feel so free every time when I want to be alone and nobody bothers me. I find peace through that. This is such a nice topic. Happy lotting!

God gave us a free will, which comes with the responsibility of choosing what is right and proper. By opting to kill, for example, a person loses his freedom. Yes there are some who get away with it, but they still lose their freedom because they lose their peace of mind. Like everyone else, freedom is very precious to me. I want to be able to make my own choices within the bounds of decency, without anyone overruling or criticizing my decision. I need the freedom to commune with God and with nature, free from intrusion and objections. I wish to enjoy the only life I have, as best as I can, while I can and do it my way. I love your idea of freedom, rolly and I wish you the very best. God bless you, my friend.

Amen! I love that I have the freedom to worship as I please. I'm happy that I can commune with God in my own way. You are right; murderers and other law breakers are not free, even if they aren't caught because they are ALWAYS looking over their shoulders.

For me, it means that i am free to use my own money (my own salary) . to buy whatever i want, after i have given my share on whatever expenses we will have at home.
This is what my husband is giving me, and i am so happy he is so understanding.

You have right that freedom can mean so many different things for different people. As for me freedom means financial stability. It means that I can pay my bill on time. Also can have proper physio to be more independent. If I can pay my bills on time and have full fridge I don't need anything else.

That's a right to be allowed to enjoy privacy . I agree with you that is also a very important aspect of life and a freedom to be cherished . Thanks for your response friend

hi rollypolly to this Elderly lady your idea of freedom it wonderful and I would have to qualify it only to wish
'I could walk again with just my cane not my walker as I would
love to be out under the blue sky with the white marshmallow clouds and see children playing and hear birds singing. be out in nature and sit on the grass and feel the sun on my skin again. age and arthritis and an injured knew stop me from doing all that. I would love to be free of arthritis but I am still grateful I live in the USA where I can say I don't agree with my president and not be shot for saying so. we Americans often do not appreciate what we have as compared to other countries where people are not free to speak as they wish and travel , where women are looked on as third class people while here we are treated as equals to our husbands, I am really proud to be an American rollpolly. yes I would love to be free from diabetes and arthritis then I wou d not mind being 85. I would love to live to 90 and that is possible. but I am free in more ways than lots of people other countries so all is not lost.

Freedom: I would like to have a day that is free of pain. I'm thankful for the freedom we have in this country. Personally, I'm not really free. I'm not free to come and go as I wish, because I don't have a car anymore. No one comes to see me, so if I don't get a ride to see anyone, I am just home bound. '
I'm happy today though, because I am with my adopted Mom at her house today for Thanksgiving. I'm helping her make some of the side dishes while the turkey is in the oven roasting. I'm making apple, carrot and raisin salad. Yummy! I feel like a bird that has been let out of its cage today.

I truely believe in free will. I think that people are free to chose what to do, they confront with choices every single minute. From the tiniest aspects, to the great ones. Should I drink a coffe or a juice today? Should I eat an apple or a pear? Should I get this job or the other?
I also believe that every choice we make will affect our lives one way or the other. As the phylosopher Sartre used to say, we are condemned to FREEDOM, because of these choices we have to make every single day.
