I've been working in a Production company, my job is to edit documents for final output. Everyday I am working more than the usual hours, I almost find my self empty. Luck of excitement in life, just focusing on the job. Being so WORKAHOLIC. After how many months I realized that I almost loose myself. My suffered from severe headache because of stress and lack of sleep. My eyes started to become blurry and my life became boring. I can't imagine my self after 20 years or more. This is not good for my health but I'm starting to get over it. This kind of lifestyle is like attempting SUICIDE, just like taking a poison. Killing yourself slowly day by day. I know a lot of people is just like me. What can you say about this? Do you belong?

I do know the feeling. Working more than 12 hours can be very difficult. It's certainly not something that I enjoyed doing. I did do, as I had to. Luckily, it was only for a short period of time. It's not something that I want to do very often at all.

You are really lucky, so i must say enjoy your life to the fullest. If you want to be happy with your job, then find a job that suits you. Take note: Make sure to read the guideline of your working hours, choose the one that you can still have time for yourself :P

Yeah, your right. Stress can cause many things like being irritable and weak. Your not healthy if you are stress and our body is only our capital to earn money right? then what do you prefer? your health or wealth? I should say my health.

Good day to you VICEcaholic,
Well, if I will be given again a work with that schedule of 12 hours, perhaps, I would love it and appreciate it thoroughly since my situation here in our home is not as harmonious as it was. And my mom pushes me hardly to go out to have an office job, so maybe if I will be in your position, my mom will somehow appreciates my stay here. Although, I know how you feel since I was in that position before. That, the time of my life just go around my work and cannot do anymore a thing that will somehow give me life and relaxation. The reason why, I just want to work now a days as a freelancer, because I was in that situation before and it was really really tiring. Aside from that, at the end of the day, you will just come home and find yourself empty and boring.

Life is boring as you have said if you are in this kind of job, your not only having sedentary lifestyle but also a life far away from excitement. Well let's not consider the job friend, but your own life. You can live only once and you can't turn back to just to save yourself. Let just say you became successful with this kind of work, but can you still enjoy all of this when you reach 40's? By that time with this routine you will totally became a garbage of vegetable.

You were inclined with your work habit. It's hard to be able to stop from not doing things like those you've said. But, they were all in our memory. I think that we need to work our mind and body as well together in the same time. If I knew I have had too much, it's time for me to say that I have had enough. I do think I don't want anymore, so I stop doing and trying to find other things like resting from our job for while, going out with friends and have a party. We must enjoy and importantly you know how to live happily and knew to do it as well. Enjoy your life.

What can I say? One word, production. Because you are working for someone, it is different than if you were in control but imagine if it was your own business. It is true that some self-employed small businesses are like this.
I try to regulate myself but have found as well that over work is destructive. I've been successful working in spurts with breaks in between so that long hours don't kill me. Plus you can be so interested in your job that it does not seem to be too hard until it is, then you just need to take a break.
I understand some Japanese factories in the last decade found that production actually went up when employees were given breaks when they needed them, even to the extent of providing cots for naps during a work day.
So perhaps it is a worthwhile consideration for the worker not to overwork, for their continued health and also to be good workers for the company. Someone, might need to improve the quality of production by trying different methods to reduce negative stress in the work place. - drop this by email to a manager there?

Production indeed necessary for each and everyone of us to live, to buy all the things what we want. I agree with you when you say its different when you on control. Yes it is totally different but in my case my friend it's not. I am the worker that is why I need to give it all just to satisfy my employer. Well we have to work with it, there's nothing you can do. Unless you resign and take you whole time sleeping ^^.

I used to worked longer hours and sometimes it even takes 20 hours a day. For 2 years, I felt like my world only evolves inside our company. My best priority is our company so to be able not to have pending work, i rendered over time and most of it are not paid. I didn't even have night life during my 2 years of stay in the company. I felt that I had missed many things in my life because of the longer hours I stayed in my job. But when I finally had a courage to resign, I felt freedom. Now, I can handle my time freely and I am not able to render force over time anymore.
