A pleasant day fellow mylotters, It was indeed annoying when waking up at the wrong side of the bed. What I mean, you have waked up due to screaming and shouting noise that you have heard within your family members. That, they did not think at all that somebody is still sleeping and getting some good sleep. It is really maddening. It seems like they don't care at all. Just like what is happening here at our home, that I really don't know the reason why they keep on shouting and ignore the fact that somebody is still asleep. Yet, they cannot afford to give respect in such simple situation.

I would go in there and remind them that someone is sleeping and perhaps they could keep it down. I know how you feel, I hate having woken up because of such noise, when it's not necessary.

This situation is happening almost everyday. As I am starting to be pissed of. That I really cannot understand why they cannot lower down the tone of their voices.

This happens to me every so often, when my mom and brother would get into a fight. they would most certainly be on each other's neck, and literally shout at each other and they would even raise their voice a bit higher than the other one - almost every time. I do not expect them though to think of me or my other brother sleeping at the time. my mom thinks that since we are just her children we do not have the right to demand her being cautious with how she moves or talks or shout around the house.

Yes I believe a person always wakes up in a better mood when one wakes up naturally without alarms ot screaming and such, I do believe how you wake up sets the rest of your day.

It's never pleasant being woken up by someone screaming or shouting or anything like that. I find that it's more pleasant to just wake up naturally, just by yourself, and not by someone else, or something else.

If the screaming comes from the neighbor, as long as it is not at an alarming level, I wouldn't care. I would just have to close the window and continue with my sleep. There is nothing I can do about it anyway. But if happens inside my house with my children or other members of the family, I would really be pissed off. But luckily it seldom happens so I'm not much bothered. Yeah people who do that are so disrespectful.

I know what you mean, waking up like that does make you mad. My brains need to wake up in peace. :-( Also worse: shouting, never ending shouting of your neighbours. That even makes me more nervous. Today they let me enjoy them changing the windows in their house. At the front and start. Whole day such a big noise, my owl was very scared, it was never ending. At those times I don't like to be at home.

I used to live next to some neighbours who were always fighting. Finally things got out of hand, someone tried to kill someonee else, the police got involved, and the neighbour was evicted. No more noise after that.

Hi there... It is indeed very annoying to wake up due to screams and shouts and quarrels. I hate the idea! And worse, I can't sleep ever after that... You should talk to your family members about it.. Let them know that you're not comfortable with it and it isn't acceptable... If they are not able to see it, you must make them aware of it... Good Day!

hi airshelia it nice and quiet here at Gold Crest at night but some residents do get noisy in the day time., but it seems to me that you should plead, beg, even yell if you have to to get your family members to soft pedal the nois ewhen you are trying to sleep.,You will have to talk to them firmly as they have done this awhile and need to 'know how annoying it is.

I used to live with this couple that used to argue every morning. At first I hated it but then after a while it got so predictable that I got used to it and was able to sleep trough it. I can sleep trough predictable noise but if it just comes out of the blue yeah I hate it.

This always happens in a boarding house and hall of residents. People just slam the doors and shout late at night. It is quite rare for this to happen in my home though because my Dad who is usually the one going to bed latest would turn the TV down at mid night as my sister and I have to go to school in the day. Maybe you can talk to your family members what you think about their noise and tell them to be more considerate as you are living and sharing within the same environment.

I can really relate to that. It is indeed very annoying. My sleeping disturbed because the loud voices you hear from the outside. It makes me angry especially when I am very sleepy. Most of the time it is my neighbors who are very noisy. They don't know that I am sleeping in my room. I just wake up and can't go back to sleep.

I can understand that if that was my baby crying, screaming or making loud noise, but if you are talking about family members who are adults and you are sleeping, well yes that can be so annoying. Just tell them to minimize their voices and tell them you like to have a good sleep.

Many households are like that. I remember living with an uncle for a while whose wife would awaken everyone with her screams and shouts to rouse her children so they could start with their household chores. These screams would get worse if she learned the winning number of the day because she was a heavy bettor in a form of gambling involving numbers. It was always a noisy morning in that house. She was noisier than all the chickens in the neighborhood.
