How do you find happines when everything around you makes you unhappy?

When I am sad or unhappy, I ty to diver my attention to other things to make me happy, inspire or to mak me smile. I don't dwell much on the thing that makes me unhappy o else, I will be so depressed. I turn to internet, do my craft or anything. I am so uneasy and will make things for me to smile. :)

Thank you JosephP! :) It is just that, I have been there in the "dark" being depressed and sad. I had tried staying away on the real world thinking of my problems and what went wrong, etc.. Nothing happened, the problem is still there and I am so miserable.I would like to add that one should try talking or praying during hard times. Prayer moves mountains!

When struck in such a situation or mood I leave that place for atleast sometime, I put on my earphone and listen to the music of my choice..

I follow a saying, "when you don't like your neighbors, I change the neighborhood." I suggest you do the same. However, it's better to develop tolerance for others. It pays in the long run.

Hi,
There was a phase in my life when I was unhappy with everything and everyone. It seemed like the whole world turned against me. People at home drove me nuts and I couldn't concentrate on my studies.
There was nothing I could think of doing to change my situation. So, I kept telling myself, this is life and I have to endure the pain. But at one point I just couldn't take it anymore and decided to run away from home. Well, I wouldn't encourage you to do that. That one move changed my whole life. Without any kind of support from anyone, I struggled like never before and it made me realize that the grass is always greener on the other side. Give yourself some time. You will be able to see things more clearly from another angle. Remember there is always a light at the end of every tunnel. Cheers!

I have this experience and happen to me ,and my neighbor have problems,unhappy,but what i did ways is to make something tht will gives us happy, like a funny jokes,talking and others just make fun ..we can turn the sadness into joy at anytime..

I will usually take a couple of minutes to chill out and relax and then I will tune in to some relaxing music! This makes me feel at ease, and prevents me from worrying or stressing out about much! Then I am happy in the mist of unhappy things!
If this doesn't help, then I try to locate my zone where I'm still focused and keen! I seek out the positive and exclude the negative!

Never been in that situation! Whenever things get me down, I just potter in my garden or play with the cats - maybe take a walk in the country or plan a trip abroad. There's always something to turn me away from misery into happiness...always.

there is also a situation where everything is happy around you but in your heart and mind there is something bothering you. it is really hard to be happy or to enjoy something while you are in a crowd that is sad. and it is not easy to be happy even your crowd is happy but you are in a situation where you have a personal problem or heart problem. but we all need to have a break. enjoy the moment and get back to reality later... or bear with the situation then there is always rainbow after a rain.

Ignore or leave the place.
Why should I let myself drowned with unhappiness.
We can always escape from such situation.
Happiness is a choice...and I won't let sadness fill my life.

It is impossible to change the world but we can always change the way we think and look at things. Try to adopt a more positive mind and give yourself a little break from all the things that annoy you by not thinking of them as annoyance. Cool it and whistle from time to time. There are really so many things in this life that irritate us but the only way to survive is to loosen our standards a little bit and find some goodness in the most annoying things or people that surround us.

It might seem that it's the world and everyone around but when we do soul search for a long time we will always end up realizing it's inside.
For example: loneliness, we might always say that it's because no one loves us, because we have few friends or because we don't have a girl/boyfriend right now, but the truth is we ourselves are leaving us aside.
There's something that you are missing in your life, try to look inside and not out.

Good day, friend. I am the kind of person who is easily controled by the negative moods. So usually when something unpleasant happens to me, I would feel blue all day long. Sometimes I would go out and have a big meal. That would give me much comfort. But this doesn't always work. Besides, it will add to my weight. so now I would always turn to my friends for help. They can really share with my sadness and sorrow. After telling them about my worries, I would feel much better.
And now I am learning to control my moods and learn to be strong enough. Actually, being unhappy can't solve any problem and will even do harm. So why not just keep a positive mind and always try to calm down and figure out the solution each time you are unhappy.

I didn't realize this discussion was over a year old. You've gotten some wonderful, considered responses here. Sometimes, while at work, I would feel unhappy or stressed about something, and I could not leave my post. So, if I was walking down a hall, I would pretend in my mind that I was swimming down the hall, because swimming makes me happy. I got so good at this that I almost felt the water against my skin. I admit that I have tried to eat my way to happiness, but we all know that's not a healthy idea. It just left me fat and unhappy. Yesterday the weather was dangerous and I had done all I could to prepare. Once the power went out, there was nothing else to do but go to bed and sleep while the weather rampaged through. So I just just prayed and reminded myself, "This, too, shall pass." I actually didn't sleep until the power came back on, but I felt better for lying down, at least. Peace! :-)

one of my fav sayings in life. difficulties where made to be overcome. If i can't leave a situation, i'ma try my darnedest to make sure it wont bring me down. Prayer, music, games, reading, whatever it takes. And if all else fails, imagination is a wonderful room of escape.

Nothing external can make us unhappy as happiness is something we chose. If we do not like our environment it is up to us to change it, or change ourselves, or both. Now this cannot always happen overnight, but we start planning today. Even just changing our plans makes us feel a little better :-)

hi josephP you have to find happiness inside you as nobody
else can make you happy. So people in your house annoy you
so move away from them and see if you cannot find something'
in that class that you like,else why did you sign up to take
it?Shut out unpleasantness and focus on being happy by
finding things you love to do and doing them. do not get
sidetracked by things you dislike. You have to decide to make yourself happy and do the things you know you like to do.

Happiness can't be for keeps because it is dependent on happenings around. Of course it will quite hard to be happy in the midst of annoying, sad, or boring situations. However even if happiness depends on the surrounding circumstance we can also choose not to be so affected in despite of annoying or bad things that come our way. Well how do we do it, all we need is patience.

i go out or i try every possible way to avoid those people. when i have no choice but to be with them in one room, i act as if they dont exist. that's it.. we'll i know im good at it but some people cant even stand seeing their faces.
and i always have the "i dont care" kind of thinking and attitude towards everything. i mind my own thing and make sure i dont depend on with other people just to be happy..

If I would be in that situation, I have no choice but to leave the place. I would rather be alone than to be with people whom I'm not comfortable to be with. I don't want sadness fill my life. Enjoy life! Have a nice day ahead!
