when you lose something, do you always expect something bigger?

I always hear this, even when i was younger. When we lose our money, or they got stolen, etc people or elders would often say that we are bound to get more than what we lost. Like the other day, a friend lost her whole purse with quite an amount of money. It was of course a significant amount, but two days after she got a call from a company and offered her a high salary than she expected, about twice as much as what she is getting now. So do you have the same experience happened to you? Do you think the world has a way of giving back to us what is really ours to begin with?

Yes I think that when that kind of things happen to me is because there was a peson more inneed than me and needed the money more than me, it hurt but if I have helped a person in a difficult situation that make me happy. And of course because God don't keeps anything for him he give us the double of what we lost.

i don't think so. it could just be coincidental. However, its more true to hold on a belief that when something was lost, you will get more than what was lost because you are determined to have it back or even surpass it. I believe its hardwork and perseverance. But hey, there's always luck! :)

Actually I had lost money, cellphones and expensive bracelet that was a gift from my father. But I never noticed if there are something bigger arrived after the lost. My friends has the same beliefs, she always told me that there are always big return.

that is great right?! when we expect great things to come to us even if we had to lose something first. :D

We tend to console ourselves, whenever we lost something , that's why we would usually say that. We try to appease ourselves over the loss. We call it wishful thinking.

ahaha.. i think yes, that is partly true that we appease ourselves when we say that.. it helps us to cope anyway, right? :D I'd say that it sure is one way of course.. but sometimes it could be that there is something that would be returned back to us.

Yes, primarily it is to appease ourselves with regards the loss. Though, there's also a wishful thinking that indeed something will be received in exchange for the loss. So when we receive something days after the loss, we think that it indeed was true. Though, i think there's some truth in that saying indeed.

I don't think so... The world is not a happy place where everyone gets what deserve... That's more the Disney's way...

I very much believe in karma, and don't worry much when something is taken from me. It has shown itself many times to me in my life, so I don't worry. The most prominent was a time that a person stole $20 from me. I was upset when I found it gone, but during that week I found $20 in a dryer when doing clothes (was at the laundry mat so it wasn't mine to begin with), and $5 twice on the street corner in front of my house that I know is highly trafficked so it was very lucky that I was able to find it twice. I also got a surprise check from my school. In the meantime, the individual that stole the money got into a very terrible fight that same week. I had nothing to do with it, and I had told no one that she had stolen from me. God has a way of working things out, so when bad things do happen to me I don't worry.

I don't quite remember if I've experienced the same thing. I probably had, but I might have been too fixated on the lost object that I didn't notice that it was replaced by something more valuable than the one I lost, material-wise or not. But yes, somehow I believe that if I lose something, that something wasn't meant for me and that I'd be getting something that would be more useful to me.

In my case once I loose something I take it fro granted as lost and totally forget about that.. But once a wonder has happened that I lost my mobile phone in a Mall and by evening 7.00 p.m. one person called m e up and returned the mobile which I cannot forget in my life...

Things like that happen, maybe to teach us a lesson, or we deserve better. It could be that we are abusive or irresponsible in handling of our things, and by losing them we learn how to be careful and to be responsible. On the other hand, it could be that there is something much better that we deserve than the things we have lost - when a window is closed, a door will be open. Thanks!

It may be something like that but I never experienced this way.... I lost many things in life but never got anything bigger as a prize of loosing. And frankly speaking I never wanted these gift, I got everything in life with my labour and brain, but lost many thing and never expectd anything..... This is the fact that whatever you look for comes for you, and if you relate something with your previous accident, it will show you the luck.....

Yes of course, because i believe in life, failure is the beginning of succes and if you fail today, you wouldn't want to fail again therefore you will aim for success, but you must also believe in positivity.for example, few months back,i lost a certain amount of money which was meant for something important, but i didnt panic,i just believed positively that i was going to get it back in double and few days before the money was needed i got the money in double.so if you believe and work hard for something you lost, you will certainly get something more better.

Once in my life I had lost hundred rupees. I went to search for my hundred rupees but I couldn't find it. So I give up. I think that god will give me something better than my hundred rupees and he has gifted me a good phone for it. I thank him for that. I love him. Actually god is great. Do you have such an experience ?
