Hi mylotters, Christmas is just around a corner, thirty days left and its Christmas time. As the holiday is coming with us, each family has its own way of doing things this holiday, a chance to celebrate family traditions and create more memories specific to your own family, most of us are having a reunion with family or friends.
And as we, we also have a family reunion every year in different houses in one of our relatives. And this year, our house is a hosting and an organizer to that event. So i was wondering what and how will i do to organize and be completely be happy and enjoyable our family reunion this year.
Has anyone of you having a family reunion? how can you do it, and what preparation are you going to do? Can you please share and help me to organize our reunion?

there is a yearly family reunion that the family and relatives of my wife do... They have been ding it for more than 3 years and it is quite fun and times... They have contests and games for kids and adults too- with singing and dancing, it is usually held in a beach or pool. We share lots of food too.

Hi stanley, thanks for the response, Good to know that you had also a family reunion along with your wife's family, and its really fun and exciting to see all your relatives who are so often you see.
Since i was young, we do it every year with different houses and host of each family, but since it was too long ago since the last time we celebrated the family reunion in my family place, we were also kinda excited and thinking so many thing how this get together be more exciting and fun. Each family has assigned foods to bring, and also as a family host for this year, we were also the one who is more foods to share..

So your family will be hosting your clan reunion this year.As one member said color coding or each clan will wear their assigned color is also a good suggestion. That way you can distinguished which family the color wearer belongs to. Last year in my wife's clan reunion, every members of the family wears white T-shirt. Printed at the back of the shirt bears the name of the clan she/he belongs. Each family brought foods to share and there are parlor games too which the kids enjoyed.

Hello Mikaela!
Wow! Yes there's only 30 days left before Christmas! Thanks for reminding me.
Sadly, we never have any family reunion at all. But I can suggest you a little idea to make a happy and memorable one. I think it would be fun if you assign each family to come wearing one colors. For instance, your family will all wear red. While the other family must wear green and the rest blue or whatever. And then each family has come and perform a dance number. Not one in each family members, it has to be the mom, dad and their kids.
For the foods, pot luck will be okay plus the host of course should see to it that there's gonna be lots of foods for all the family. Exchanging gifts follows.

Your Welcome enelym, indeed a few weeks and its a day we been waiting..
Color assign in each of the family is really a nice one, i was also thinking if i can also print a t-shirt then give it to them on the day of the reunion, but too much expensive. We always have a family member to perform any number every reunion. Thanks for the suggestion.. Try also to organized for your family i know you will be a good organizer.

You're most welcome
Yeah t-shirt printing is a bit expensive. But if they're willing to donate a few amount that would be nice. So everyone will be wearing personalized shirt. I will try if I can

I organized a family reunion years ago.
That was a big event since it's clan reunion and I need people to help me contact all our relatives from around the globe (okay our country)
But,yes, we also need to contact relatives living abroad.
I designated people and give them tasks...
and I checked on them from time to time about the progress.

I do like to organize parties even its not a family reunion. And since you are the hosting family aside from wearing different colors of shirts and dancing and singing it would be better to have some parlor games not only for the kids but also for the moms and dads unties and uncles. it would trigger the unity and teamwork of your relatives with the team building games you might be given to them. Prepare also a decorative shirts or mugs as give aways for the games. It would be fun fun fun during that day...

I suggest cooking like its thanksgiving all over again. All your family members will love your cooking and it will make everybody happy. I do not suggest too much egg nog though. And have lots of things for kids, its a good feeling to know that you entertained everyone and seeing kids playing and people eating. Besides that just basic decoration, you can have lots of candy too that will help.

I was the one who organised xmas get togethers for the family every single year until I shifted to a new place. Nothing ever happens now. Everyone is drifted. I now organise parties for orphans at my place and last year I did it at a beach resort. This gives me a lot of peace and happiness.
