What should I do with this picture?

Reflection of Me Taking Picture of Black Lab in Ca - I wanted to get this dog's picture, but couldn't do it without getting my own

I really wanted to get the picture of the dog with it's head sticking out of the car, but I didn't realize that in the bright sun I and my camera would also be in the picture. Now I think the picture is ruined for making any Zazzle products because I'm in it, yet it's unique enough I'd think it should have some purpose. Can you think of a use for this picture? Zazzle is a print on demand service with more product types than I would have room to list here, but some of them are greeting cards, postcards, posters, decorative plates and tiles, t-shirts, hats, mugs, aprons, puzzles, stickers, magnets, ornaments, etc. I'm trying to figure out who would want a picture like this and on what? Any ideas? Any words that could go with such a picture? One problem with these digital cameras is that with the screens instead of a viewer, in the wrong light you can't be sure what will be on your picture until it's unloaded. When they say point and shoot, that's just what I have to do -- point, shoot, and hope. How about you? How do you feel about the viewer where we used to frame our shots being replaced with a screen you can't see outside on a sunny day?

Daisies iPhone case at Zazzle - this is the bouquet of daisies i took a pic of at the grocery store.. and played with it a little at home then uploaded to zazzle
I'm Afraid there probably isn't much use for the pic unless you crop and zoom in on the dogs cute face.. but then you lose all perspective of the car... at least the digital camera process is free and we don't have to spend a fortuce developing film like we used to. :) I take LOTS and Lots of photos and If I get one or 10 great shots out of a hundred .. I'm happy.. I love Zazzling..it has given me a new purpose.. I take so many photos now.. and I look at everything as a photo op.. a very different perspective of the world. I carry my camera with me everywhere! you should have seen me a few months ago at Home Depot... taking pics of their fall flower displays and the pumpkins.. the flowers came out fairly good.. and then even a few shots of flower bouquets at the Supermarket impressed me.. the people in the grocery store probably thought I was nuts.. but I really could care less... HAHAHA.. those shots I just used recently making iPhone cases a couple days ago... This is one of them... I also altered the colors..

Then I wont tell you how I let him skin my pretty boy long hair hamster after he passed away... This was decades ago mind you... But my Robby was he patriarch of a soon to be huge family, it felt sad just to let him go.. so we skinned him and kept him around forever. :)

Sounds like you do what I do. For a challenge for a gather group, Everything Yellow, I took my camera to Trader Joe's and took pictures of everything yellow in the store. I take it to Farmers Market for pictures for Squidoo and HubPages, and also Zazzle. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the picture I took of a freshly killed squirrel in the middle of the street. But my camera does go everywhere with me. You iPhone case is lovely. What's your store name?

It's a cute picture. I would suggest downloading it into your computer and try to remove your reflection. I know on the Mac I have, I can go into iPhoto and fix a picture. It's not Adobe PhotoShop, but it does work. You keep the original and work on the copy. Crop it and try to remove the image of you. Be careful because it could turn out bad. Take your time.

Well, it does take some time to fix a picture. But don't stress it. Finish what you need to do.

Maybe I'll try that. I usually wait and crop and resize in Preview, since what I do in iPhoto edit seems to be permanent unless I undo it right there. I've never tried making a copy and then changing the copy. I"ll play with it when I have more time. Still have some autumn writing projects I need to get finished.

I do agree that many times it is hard to get pictures you try taking outside to turn out right. There are many times I have tried and do not get the quality I would like due to the Sun always being there in the way. But maybe it is just something you should play around with and find something that seems to suit you, because usually when you are Happy with it, others will always be as well.

This picture is currently on hold. I guess I'll wait for a "reflection challenge" on Gather or somewhere and use it for something like that.

I think this a miss. There has to be a way to get this shot Without you in the short. I hope you can figure it out and try this shot again.

There's no way I can get the shot again. This was taken months ago in a parking lot. But I haven't figured out a good way to redeem it. Actually, the only use I could think of for it was a writing prompt for a discussion here.

It is a digital picture, isn't there a way to photoshop you out of the shot?

If you really have your heart set on using the image you could try going to a professional photographer or imaging store that will be able to fix it for quite easily. The problem with this is that it can be quite pricey, but it is worth asking for a estimate and see if it worth while. If you would rather do it yourself then the only video I found that shows how to remove reflection from glass is this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eUWEnj6C00 it is not exactly what you seem to need but I hope it helps, at least it is a starting point. Good luck, I hope you find a solution.

Even without my reflection the picture is too cluttered with cars. There is actually another dog in the car, as well, who is below in this picture so you can't see it. They were both really cute, which is why I was hoping to get them together in one of these shots, but it was hard enough to keep them still long enough to shoot either one. This is not worth investing in, but I'll check out the video. It still might work as just a picture to share on RedGage, and I don't lose anything by posting it.

The rule for taking pictures while the sun is shining is that the sun should be at the back of the camera man. It is interesting that you managed to get yourself in it. You can use the paint program to block you out, by using the 'air brush' and black colour.

It is the reflection on the window!! - Oh no! But that I think should show on the screen as well. Just yesterday I was watching a serial on tv where this mother and daughter are faking a kidnap scene. The mother is taking the picture of the daughter tied up and all but does not realise there is a mirror which captures the mother with her camera and they are caught red handed!

Ho, Ho, Ho, and thanks for the advice. I usually try to do that. But the window here was reflecting because the sun was behind me and the window. Sometimes it's tough because to get the object from the angle I need to get the part of it I want, my shadow sneaks into the picture. It's easier when the sun has set enough so shadows aren't a factor.

Picture Box - Picture Box at werribee Open Range Zoo 2011
Great photo, I like it...I went to a zoo last week and they have a special box to get an affect like that, it is like an old type outhous with two holes, one for your head and one a little further down to put your camera, when you put your head in there is a mirror so your face shows up as part of the photo...I have added the photo I took. your photo is a classic.

Your photo is quite interesting. I've never seen one you still your head in quite like this. I thought my photo was rather interesting, but I'm still not quite sure what to do with it. Maybe I should forget about Zazzle and try to get some views for it on RedGage. I haven't posted anything there for a while. It is unique.

I do not know what to do. I am the type who puts her finger in the shot. I guess you might have to crop out the part that you do not want.

I think there is too much to crop out there. I'll probably just upload it to RedGage as a unique shot and see what happens. I don't have to make a product there.

I still want to put the digital camera up to my eye to take a pic... especially on those sunny days when the screen is un-viewable. Don't know what you could do with that pic, though.

Actually, I can still do this with the old camera, but the viewer won't tell me how the picture will actually look, since if I'm trying to get a sunset, everything but the sky will be dark like a silhouette.

I am pretty annoyed that my newest camera does not have an optical view finder. As you say in the bright sun it is about impossible to get a good shot.

It gives "point and shoot" a whole different meaning, doesn't it. You point where you hope the subject is framed and shoot.

Why not use it as a self portrait? You could say it's what the dog sees when he's looking out the window, some nut with a box over her face. I think the photo is entertaining. Not commercial quality unless you can sell them on the idea of a self portrait but it has a lot to say.

Actually, I was going to post to RedGage as "Photographer Accidentally Shoots Self" or some such. I think it's funny.

first and second question... i don't know anybody who would want a photograph of a reflection like that if your real subject is the dog. third... i don't know anybody. i know not helping at all... sorry... forth... i think its a wonderful reflection photograph... now i remember something... we had a week challenge at digital-photography-school (online site) and the theme is about a photograph that the photographer should be included. i think that you did this better than i did (http://www.flickr.com/photos/12872431@N00/6374154383/in/photostream). well i don't have trouble with my point and shoot for i can choose between an electronic viewfinder and the screen... and i just watch out for the my EV indicator if its 0.0 so i know that the photograph is just right... not under expose or over expose.

Actually, I won't buy a camera for myself that doesn't have a viewer because of the fact that I really feel like there is something that is lost when you are only using a screen and not a viewer. My point and shoot camera just has a screen, but that is the camera that I just use for everyday things with the kids. My good camera has a viewer and doesn't even have the option of not using the viewer and using the screen instead. That is what I prefer but it is something that is becoming increasingly difficult to find with a point and shoot camera.

You're right about that. So far I can't justify the expense of a really good camera, since I'm not a pro and so far not making much money on photography projects. I'd have to get something light enough to take on my walks with me, since that's when I do all my nature photography. I also don't have the time before each shot to move a lot of dials and settings before my subject departs.

I think it would be entirely up to you if you wanted to be "broadcasted" all over a zazzle product. It is a cute picture and would be cute on an item, if you know how to use photo shop you could probably remove yourself out of the picture if you want to that is and just have the pup in there. If you would like to skip having yourself in the picture next time you might could stand more at the front of the car so you are not directly in the window of it. I have a digital camera that does have a screen so I can see what pictures I am going to have as soon as I take them but I use my phone to take more pictures than my camera because I always have it with me. I always take at least 10-15 photos of the same thing from different angels so I have an option on which picture is the best and I can delete the ones I do not like. Sometimes this is still not enough shots and I end up going back and doing it all over again. :)

I have photoshop elements 9 but haven't installed it yet. I don't know how to use all its features yet and don't quite get all this layering stuff. I have a friend writing a book that's a tutorial for it, so I should ask what she'd do with it. I did take several photos, but the dog wasn't into posing exactly.
