Probably around every three to six months. Everytime I get so used to the songs I am listening, I try to find some new good songs.

Thanks for the response.
Yeah it's good to keep looking for new stuff every so often and keeping up to date with what's being released.

I have not discovered any new artist recently. I seem to be stuck in the classical, baroque, and romantic period plus anything from the 30s to the 90s.

I have discovered a ton of new music but it has been my b/f that has introduced me to it. He researches someone he likes and then researches their preferences in music too. He is a musician and he is always on the hunt for new music and not the mainstream stuff either. I have really enjoyed being introduced to new music..I don't like all his choices...but I do like that I have been introduced to it.

I am not sure if the music you like is rock music .I also like music but I love folk music , some popular songs as well as compositions for all kinds of instuments, specially Chinese flute, erhu with two strings(you can see my mylot avatar,My granddaughter was playing the erhu.).I think of music as what is essential to my life.It can get my mind off bother and relax me.

Yes! I like discovering new artist and music because there's a time that I get bored on music that I'm listening maybe because I'm already used to it so that I tend to search and find new music to download it. :)

I discover new music that I like everytime I turn on CKWR radio. They are always playing music in foreign languages, and I listen to them so much, that I find I'm picking things up in German, Croatian, Serbian, Italian, Greek, and even a bit of Portugese. This is all stuff I never would have imagined growing up, but now that I have heard it, I love it!

there are different kinds of genre of music out there that you might accidentally discover and well...learn to like it. Suddenly you where in the bus or the train or even in your car and then you heard this music on the radio and suddenly it became your new favorite music. it's as easy as that. you discover music because you love music. as long as you love listening to music, the deeper you like it the more you get to know it and thus also learning new material which mostly often shock you..that this type of music (whichever kind you suddenly discover) really catches your ear and well...you like it! besides you can discover music by a lot of different ways like what i said earlier through listening to the radio, maybe browsing the net...through a friend or an acquaintance...the music store? or even just in your head. =)
