i had seen a programme telecasted on one of a News channel ,which is about Mermaids and their existence
These mermaids were really living before 6 million years in the oceans ,and many people who sailed had noticed them also.
Mermaids are good friends with Dolphins, and they live in deep seas and oceans.
Mermaids make a different kind of noise when they are attacked by some other sea animal and the sounds were recorded by Nova .
The scientists got a mermaid skelton and are trying to get their DNA .Its just like a human face with hands and everythign just like a human till the waist then from the waist there is the tail which fish have.
The Nova research team when heard such noise and sounds they tried to go to the pacific to find for the mermaids which are living still.
As they heard the same sounds and noises just like the mermaids made some milliions of years ago they came to trust that mermaids do live till day in the big oceans.
They even telecasted in the BBC channel.
However they tried not to reveal the secrets of the mermaids as they felt that these mermaids will be caught for experimentation purposes and will extint.

Thanks for the post. This made me think what is a mermaid.
I got this link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mermaid
It is given mermaids have female human head but tail like a fish. Merman - is also possible. (human head of a male and tail of fish.)
I am not sure whether there are any mermaids now. I think there may not be any mermaids now. good day.

It's a fake. In the first place it cannot have been found when or where it says it was found, because the photo has been published on the Internet long before that and, in the second place, it is quite obviously the mummified bodies of a monkey and a fish joined together. It is probably a 'wonder' from a second-rate travelling circus. Such things were (and, in some places, still are) very common.

If its fake ,and the news shown on BBC channel and other television channels telecasting such fake news ,why should they do when it is a fake thing, why should they get the rating making such programmes. Why should internet have in it such websites and photos, why to fool people.

I have searched in vain for any reference to the 'Nova Research Team' and anything on 'Mermaids' reported by them. I am pretty sure that, whatever you saw, it was a hoax, probably quite an elaborate one.
The things that tell me that it is very likely to be a hoax are:
1) The statement that such creatures existed 6 million years ago
2) How could the 'scientists' know what sounds these creatures made millions of years ago?
3) People who tell fantastic stories, especially in 'special reports' which they publish widely and then don't reveal details of where the evidence can be found are generally telling porkies.
Stories of 'mermaids' or, at least, something which is half human and half fish are part of the mythology of many peoples and occur regularly in the stories told by explorers and seamen. So, our modern, logical, scientific minds tell us, there must be some basis in reality.
WRONG! Most of the stories from different cultures differ in various material ways. They often don't even have the bottom end of a fish and sometimes they are friendly and sometimes definitely not.

The most logical reason why stories of mermaids occur in nearly every culture is that nearly all early religions were 'animalistic', that is to say that everything was believed to have a soul or a guardian spirit which could be angered or propitiated. Water is a primary need of humans and can also be a very dangerous element. It was natural, therefore, to create or imagine the spirits, gods or guardians of water as half human half fish ... that is beings which related to both the world of water and the world of humans.
Some time ago it was 'fashionable' to believe that humans themselves originated from a race of beings which lived mainly in water. Evidence was given of our greatly reduced hair and the direction in which our hair naturally lies on the body which was thought to streamline our bodies for swimming. All of this has now been completely discredited. Man originated as a variety of ape and most likely developed in a certain area of Central Africa.
There certainly are mammals whose ancestors were land animals and who took to the water. Whales, dolphins, manatees and dugongs are examples. Animals like seals and otters are examples of mammals who evolved rather later to become almost entirely water-living animals. No mammals have ever developed scales and all mammals, even whales and dolphins, have lungs and need air.

Why only water is the made to be the main or primary need, why not air .Are other elements not needed by the creation.
We need all the five elements to live ,only water i dont think it can be made the primary need.
Many things we have learnt from our ancestors ,but they were right at those times. Now we are right at this present time,we can not say that they were wrong when they discuss about mermaids or some creatures which do not exist now.
Now tigers and lions are reducing may be after some years we do not have them on this earth, what will the future generation say ,do they say that there is no animal as tiger on this world.
