Im a Slovak doctor, fresh out of school. Im looking for employment abroad since the current situation in my home country is not very good for doctors. The thing is I have no experience at all in looking for jobs in foreign countries. Im interested in getting a job in english speaking countries or german speaking countries and in Sweden/Norway. Do you have any suggestions? Do you have any experience? Share your opinions and knowledge please.

Hey! How is it that Indonesians trust foreign doctors over their own? Of course the idea of being rich is tempting and Indonesia is very appealing to me (I presume to many who like nature and adventure.) But it would take me away from my family. I care a lot about my family, thats why I want to stay close by. But the situation in Slovakia is getting worse!

hello alechin.i am a nurse here in the philippines and i am surprised to know that the current situation in your country is not very good for doctors. here in our country, we need more doctors.in fact, i even want to be a doctor because the demand is too high.my financial incapabilities just prevents me to go to medical school. if it is possible, you can go here in our country.can you tell me why you said that the current situation in your home country is not very good for doctors?

hello alechin.nice to hear from you again. i am currently working in a private hospital. i am also once a volunteer nurse in a government hospital and i am still waiting for my job application to be accommodated there.
there are not enough doctors in the philippines because many high school graduates entered the college of nursing. the demand for nurses abroad is too high that even doctors took up nursing course to suit in to the current global demand.as a result, the supply for doctors went sour.
studying medicine in the philippines is relatively expensive. you will spend around one hundred thousand pesos a year or equivalent to two thousand four hundred US dollars per year. there is a government program that gives scholarship grants to deserving students.however, only one hundred slots are allotted.
it is sad to know that doctors in your country are in such a bad slate. don't worry too much about it though. professions like that will never be taken for granted by your government since you are the of the pillars of health in your country.

Hey! Philippines are in a warm climate and I hate cold weather! :) Actually same as Indonesia (post on top of the discussion). But its bad that it is so far away. I wonder why are there not enough of doctors in the Philippines? Is the hospital you work in national? Or is it private? How much money does it take to study medicine in the Philippines? Are there no government programs to support students?
Here in Slovakia the doctors refused to work and entered a strike! We wanted to balance the system better and get better wages. But even tho it seems we got what we wanted, the public now literally hates us and everything we achieved is only on paper. I doubt the wages will actually raise.

I suggest you contact the country embassy of your choice. As a doctor i think you have a good prospect anywhere in the world. All the best to you...
