Ironic isn't it? I really feel sleepy but when I try to close my eyes, I can't fall asleep. My mind is running. What should I do to keep my mind quiet so I can have a peaceful sleep?

Probably you just lie down and hope to fall asleep after a while.

When I'm in that situation, I might go watch television or a movie, read a book, go online, or something like that. It's usually what I do, and it helps me actually fall asleep. Sometimes, it takes time, but it does eventually work.

Hi dodo19. Thanks for your advise. I do watch tv and try to choose the news or a milder movie. Because if I watch something interesting, I might not be able to fall asleep because I will end up finishing the program. Hahaha... Thanks and have a nice day!

What you should do is to keep your mind blank, try not to think about anything.People always try to listen to light music when they can't fall asleep.Hopefully this will help.

Thanks Rosa26. I just started unloading my mind. Aside for listening to soft music, I covered my eyes with a pad so as not to see light. Thanks for your advise. Have a nice day!!

If you are sleepy but can't sleep, don't force yourself. Just try to relax and keep your eyes closed. Let all the thoughts to flow. You will soon just realized that you are already in the dreamland.

Hi cherriefic. Thanks for your advice. I am like a thinking machine. I guess I have to change that. But I don't have much complaint though... successful people tends to sleep less. I just hope that I'll be successful in my endeavor too. See you around!

Hi there. I have been planning that for a very long period of time. LOL. I just cannot practice it because I wake up late and then I would have to rush to come for work. But I intend to change that now that my regular employment would end. My freelance work would give me more time to keep myself healthy. Thanks for sharing.

Hello there snowhybiscuis! I have been into that situation before, your eyes is tired but then your mind is not I really hate that kind of feeling but here is what I can suggest to you so that once can have a peaceful sleep. 1. Drink a cup of milk before you sleep because a milk has a tryptophan that help us feel sleepy. 2. Try to exercise before you sleep an exercise can cause us to be exhausted so it can makes us tired. 3. You can also try to read a book in your bed! I really assure you that reading books will help you become so sleepy.

Hi craizestqueenever. I tried all of your advises and found that drinking milk and exercising doesn't work for me. It has a reverse effect with me. But reading book indeed put me to sleep. Thanks for your advises and more power to you.

That really happens and I experienced that too. I notice that it really took me a longer time before I fall asleep if my mind is busy and is still running. It is important to relax your mind at least for an hour. You may stop worrying about your concerns and figuring all this and that. Try to read books or play games that will divert your thoughts. When your mind is not busy anymore, it is easier to fall into sleep.

Hi averygirl72. Thanks for your advice. I tried playing before sleeping but would you believe... instead of relaxing me, I just got excited and continued playing in the wee hours of the night. LoL I would refrain from playing and would just resort to reading. I believe the key here is to relax the mind. I don't actually worry much. What keeps me awake is that when I have very good ideas, I like to think how to implement it and put it into practice. It makes me excited. I learned that key to sleeping well is that I tire my eyes and mind so that I an fall asleep soundly. Have a nice day!

When I can't sleep, what I do is lay in the sofa and watch a tv show or an old movie. And before long 'BAM' I'm sleeping. But you need some kind of timer on your television set or you have someone in the house that can turn off your tv if you fall asleep.

Hi m4ndr4ke. It is a good thing that most of TV sets now are equipped with a timer. Otherwise, sleeping while it is still ON would cost us a lot of money. Thanks for sharing. Have a nice day!

Hi rahul2u. Thanks for your concern. I don't think it is a sleeping problem though. I guess my body clock just changed because of my daily activities. I wake up late instead of the usual 5 a.m. wake-up call. I now rise around 6 a.m. and gets to sleep at around 12 midnight. I intend to bring back my old habits. I just need to strengthen my self discipline and will. Have a nice day!
