I finally decided

I was in such a twist over what to
get my husband for Christmas. So,
I finally decided to get him an I POD
Touch. Pricey little buggers too.
Last year he got me a laptop and I felt so
bad because I never got him anything
that expensive. He is like that though.
The gifts are not often but usually expensive.
So, I am looking at all the features to this thing
and it's a lot of stuff. Then I wonder what is the
difference between this and a fancy phone? All I can
tell is that it has the same features as many phones but
more of it.
So, I POD owners tell me about your experiences. Do you
love yours? Any tips?

An iPod Touch is just like an iPhone, without the phone...
You will still have to pay an data fee, unless you can only use it where you have internet access, or you only use it for an iPod.
Now, I love my first generation iPhone, but I needed a phone, I don't really use the iPod features, tho I do have a few songs on it.
So, its kind of up to you, does he have a cell phone? Is it worth whatever the fees are for the phone and the Touch? Might it be worth it to just replace the cell phone with an iPhone?

I already got it for him. And I never thought
about those fees. I don't think he will use it
much for internet though. he has that on his phone.
He listens to a lot of music and I wanted to upgrade
his experience with that and allow him the option for
videos too. Plus he likes to take pictures and videos.
Maybe I will get him a new phone for his birthday.
Thanks for the info.

Far from giving any tips about iPods, I thought I'll share a few tips about the very aspect of selection of the gift itself.
* Consider the utility of the gift item for maximum daily usage point of view
* Try to recollect & reflect if he had expressed some thing he would have done better having this or that, though it would appear to you that he may feel happy with what you have thought of for him
* Select an item from a short list you make, with relative merits
Is he more of a data & voice user or a multimedia geek?
As for the iPod, I am of the data & voice user most of my day and have less time for the multimedia stuff.
I hope the digression doesn't annoy you.
