i read this on yahoo news that a chinese firm has decided not to employ person who is under the sign of scorpio and virgo. their reasons are Scorpios had strong personalities and were moody, while Virgos were hugely critical and did not stay in one job for long. i am a scorpio and all i can say that i am very hard working. i focus on work just like every good father and husband out there. my sister inlaw falls in the virgo sign and she has her job for ten years now. how can they just level people on horoscope but not on how they work. here is the link so you can read more. http://ph.news.yahoo.com/chinese-firm-rules-scorpios-virgos-report-082750158.html i cant understand this and it sound stupid if you will only accept people who falls under the sign of capricorn, pisces and libra. i know someone who is a capricorn and nener stayed for a job for long. i am sure this chinese firm will be shock to hire this capricorn person i know then they will find that this person can not stay on a job for long. funny and ridiculous.

That the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. What do stars have to do with personality. It is quite unfair that they can turn horoscope to mere personality. We need to move beyond these ugly superstition.

not just quite unfair but trully very unfair for people who work hard just like other people. i believe that there are people who falls in this sign that are lazy but most of them are lazy only at home. but in work there are people who takes work seriously. i can not believe that chinese will come up with a silly thing like this. thanks a lot for the response.

Wow..that sounds crazy! I marked the article as making me feel angry but it also made me feel odd..lol. I can't believe they are using a person's horoscope to determine their employment! It's not fair really. I have known people from the same astrological signs that have had very different work habits.

different people, different work habits. some people are hard working depends on what they are from the past, some people are hard working depends on their up bringing and some people work hard because of their personalities and never because they are in a horoscope that they believe are hard workers. i can not really believe that this is true for i am a scorpio... and if they will rely on horoscope it is said that i born to be a leader. so why wont they hire someone with this sign. this is all crap. thanks a lot for the response. have a great weekend.

Wow where is this firm where they can get away with discriminating against qualified people simply because of what time of year they were born??? You would think that in all developed countries in this day and age would have some sort of authority that would keep companies from doing things like this. I know that this wouldn't fly for too long in the United States, I'll tell you that much.

This article you have shared is very ridiculous and discriminating especially to those who falls under those signs. The worst is, this made them know it in public. This is total judgement of one's destiny to live. I know they put more beliefs on forecasts traditions, however, does it have to include any persons identity and birth horoscopes as one of the main factor in giving a job? It violates human rights of those individuals with that sign to live. The will just give negative feedback. If they will pursue this, the possibility that even their generations will be prevent to have their children be born under those signs by adjusting their calendar calculation of birth expectancy just to prevent their children being jobless and discriminated in their whole life or the parents will have no choice but to secure their child under those discriminated signs to give them a prepared business in the future. They contradict the rightful freedom on any person regardless of Horoscope signs to live freely in which environment they wanted to be. TOTALLY for me this is devastating and against human rights act. Great time here at Mylot

Well, it sounds like ignorant thinking to me. It is also backwards thinking. No one should be turned down for a job for their zodiac sign. That is some crazy thinking. Look, people come and go all the time. When I was working, I worked in the auto industry, dealerships. Service writers came and went all the time. Some were good, others were flighty. So, who's to say who should get a job or not.

I have read similar discussion. In my opinion, their statement can be right in one condition. It is reasonable. China is the largest country in population in the world. There is nearly two and half billion inhabiting this country. We are sure from the amount of people how many percent of Chinese are born under Virgo and Scorpio. If these two stars are larger than other star, their statement could be right due to the volume which is surely their action will arise more than the other. I hope you got my statement.

I have read about this particular article also just today. I find it so absurd of the employer to be so gullible of those zodiac signs. And didn't they know that there is another zodiac sign, so those prior zodiac signs' description to people will also change.

OMG! Is this for real? This is really so insane! Is a zodiac sign a basis for you so that you are not going to be hired? It shouldn't be like that! They should be rational enough that a zodiac sign is not the only criteria in employing people.

I agree Chinese beliefs can be stupid. They have their own sense of logical reasoning. I won't wonder about it as there are other stupid things that are made by some Chinese people. That is bad if you can be easily deceived by such beliefs or ideologies.

You are right it is funny and ridiculus, because of this I don't give too much importance to the horoscope because for me it is not real, at least with never was real, and then I stop following that because I realzed that it says the true.

Ridiculous. It is scary to work in a company like that. I mean, how many more superstitions do they have. Maybe they work with the lights OFF, so that bad spirits wont see them.

first thing, what a stupid way to choose employees. basing them on horoscopes? what are they? some teenage girls who rely on horoscopes for good fortune? this is injustice, it might be a good thing not to work for them if those owners and employers have such an unjustly method of picking out their workers. silly silly...

I certainly don't understand the reasoning for this decision. Although Chinese culture seems to be rooted in superstition (i.e. each year is based on an animal) so I'm not entirely surprised that this news is coming from China. In my time reading horoscopes and about personality traits that seem to be linked to one sign or the other, I have realized that the astrologer's predictions are not always correct or even close! To limit someone's job prospects based on his/her sign is really an outrages. I'm sure Chinese citizens find it hard to obtain a quality job--just like here in the U.S.--and this company could be turning down a highly qualified applicant based on something the applicant cannot even control. I'd rather see them have applicants take a personality test as opposed to enacting this ridiculous policy. So silly!
