Places in Manila are shown on TV, having beautiful display of colorful and dancing lights. In Makati the display of lights are so beautiful even if, I saw it just only on TV. It was said that there are 600,000.00 lights. Some seem to be raindrops . It is said that this year’s theme is HOPE.
A lot of malls in Manila and Quezon City were also shown having nice displays of Christmas things. Indeed, it is different here in our province. There are also displays of lights and Christmas things , but they are not as fabulous as that shown on TV. I think, the malls here are a bit scrimping.
But not only the malls, i noticed that houses here in our provinces don't have huge displays of Christmas lights. At our house, we have Christmas lights in the garden as well as inside the house. But i was wondering why others have not put up their Christmas lights outside yet?
So how's the Christmas displays in your places guys?

here in our place there are a lot of displays here already i love it most during the night when all the houses would light up because of the series they have put up all over their house.
in our malls we have a big Christmas tree with sleigh and gifts in it.
anyone can ride on the sleigh and take some pictures.
Christmas is in the air!

It's nice to know that malls in your place have fabulous displays. At least, they are generous in sharing their blessings with the people.
Here in our province, it seems that the malls' managers have it in their minds that whether they have a fabulous Christmas displays or not, the people will still patronize them. Hence , they chose to scrimp on their displays.
However, the Christmas spirit is not in those trimmings , but it's in the heart of the people.

yes, that's right Simplyd.
what's important is that Christmas is felt and the displays just add to it.
it has been a tradition here that there are big stars and a tall Christmas tree built inside and out of the mall.
everywhere you look inside the mall it's full of Christmas display making Christmas felt and seen. gives me a lighter feeling when i would just stroll inside the mall.

Just this weekend we went to a regular tourist attraction near here which was lit up in Christmas lights. It's a suspension bridge, and I've been here when it's daylight, and I've seen how deep the ravine is. It was just interesting to see how it looked like with lights on.
You would almost forget how scary it is, but all the merry lights!

Oh, a suspension bridge filled with lights. I think that's a beautiful sight to behold from afar. But i think it is indeed scary, if it's in a deep ravine.
However, if it is a concrete bridge, i would like to pass by it. But if it's not, i will have second thoughts.

oh yes. most esstablishments would of course be displaying lights and christmas colors in their shops to attract the people. i noticed that too because in our village, not too many have put up a single light yet. maybe they are all waiting for the december to come - which is only about 2 days from now. well i am hoping to see them put up some lights too.

Well, that is only one reason, why they aren't putting up Christmas lights yet. But at the back of my mind, maybe they are scrimping so their Christmas Day preparations of food will be fabulous and instead of spending so much on electricity , they will save it for the gifts.

We have already placed our christmas lights and it is really beautiful.
I guess there are several factors why others have not yet displayed their christmas light because of the following:
1. High cost of electrical bills. Though they are led type bulb,it does not excuse for an increase of Meralco bills.
2. Afraid of causing fire. It was exposed to public about the accident happened in Jose de Venecia residence that caused fire from christmas lights.
3. Victim from robbery streets. There were reports that in some places, there were rumored street people who steals those christmas lights decor in their outside houses or gates.
4. Financial crisis. Many much prefer to purchase things for their basic needs due to many crisis.
Christmas is the most extravagant month. All people focus on gift giving and bountiful sharing of blessings. However, at the present time in all over the world where economic crisis affects the financial aspects. They use the law of practicality. For me, as long they have celebrated the christmas together with the family is the most important quality time spent in this event season. The real essence of christmas in our hearts .
A blessed time for all of us here

Yes, i thought of those reasons too, genericbe. It is obvious that most people are really scrimping . Maybe they are thinking that they might as well save their money for the Christmas food preparations.
what is important is that you get to honor Jesus on that day , by going to church together with the family and have some nice foods to partake, after.
