I have been the owner of Female cats for most of my life, just to start things off. I have always LOVED my lady cats because they are so gentle and affectionate. Over the past two years, all that has chnged. I had a lovely tabby named Kiki, and I thought she was lonely, so I wanted another cat and for the first time in my life, I chose a BOY! His name is Smokey, and he is an all Gray Fat Boy. Sadly, I lost Kiki last year. We were so sad because she was only five and developed a blood disorder and we had to put her down. We were at such a loss for about six months and then came Sammy. Sammy is a tan Tabby and he's awesome, but now I have come to realize that I think I prefer MALE cats. Both of my men are wonderful and they are so affectionate! Have you ever had a preference? I am curious, so share with me here!

I have had GREAT female cats and GREAT male cats. I really don't know that I have a preference. I do like it when they are all in my face loving tho, I'm hard pressed to sleep without the cats in my bed.

Both male and female cats are really interesting. i have both of them, but if i need to choose any of them i will choose male cats.why?for me female cats needs more things to think about..when they get pregnant and giving birth, some difficult things for me must be done..like get ready some comfort place to sleep, get they clean absolutely..as i am a very busy person..so those things make me thinks twice before having lady cats..

I love cats but I don't know how to distinguish the difference between male and female cats with regards to their traits. Whatever a cat's gender is, I still love to have one. Cats are all so cute.

This is a good question and very difficult to answer as I've only owned one male cat in my life, the rest have been female. However, when I come to think about it Jodie (the male) never, ever, EVER scratched anybody and he had to be uprouted from one place to another early on in his life. He thrived on being able to go outdoors once I moved back to Mum's and, even after his "op" we'd only see him at certain times of the day. He had lots of friends that he would run up to on a wall that seperated us and the cemetery and I can see his silhouette now (in my head) once the sun went down, as he was "chatting" to his pal on the wall. He was such a happy cat! He was such a gorgeous, friendly, outgoing cat so to have him put down at only 12 years old (he had severe arthritis in his back legs) was an experience I will never forget...as with all my cats, of course. We never forget them, male or female...not even the bad-tempered ones!

I have mostly female cats. I don't plan it. That is just the way it works out. But, currently I have 3 males. Sandy was neutered long before the others came and he doesn't cause me any trouble. The other two have not been neutered. They become very aggressive and are always jumping on my females when they are in heat. I don't like it.

Female cats are also nice but if they are in heat they are not free of hustle and worry to us they are very noisy.

I love all cats, I used to have a girl kitty that I loved then after I had to put her down. I rescued a boy kitten, my boyfriend has a boy cat and we just adopted another boy kitten they all look alike too. I love my little boys they have such personality.

Well i think girl cats are for me . For a couple of reasons i will list :P 1.I live in a villige and well there are mouses going around and from common knowledge a Female cat is a great Hunter of those pests :P Male cats are more in to lazyyy stuff :D 2.From what i saw Female cats are more lovely , the come and lie in you and are more loving somehow :) 3.Male cats just sleep and eat , thats prety much they do :) But still thats my point of view and i love my female cat :) she is wonderfull and i hug her wholde and she comes so i can hug her :P One thing is that Female cats like (Womans) are sometimes annoying :P where a male cat can just meow once and be silent after :P

Yes male pets are better. I have two (2) dogs they are both males. I once had a pet cat and it was male. I always prefer male pets because they are easy to handle and I find females pets unhygienic specially during their mating periods.

We have a male cat in the house. My father prefer to have a male cat to avoid giving birth and having a bunch of cats.
