Mahakam Bridge II which located in Kutai regency, East Kalimantan, which is often regarded as "The Golden Gate Indonesia" collapsed along about 500 meters on Saturday (26/11/2011) at around 16:15 pm. Longest suspension bridge in Indonesia, Kukar Bridge collapsed on Saturday, November 26, 2011 evening and only takes 30 seconds. Though the bridge was only 10 years old. Some victims were found dead and dozens missing due to splash in the water with a depth of 30 meters. Until now still not yet ascertained the cause of the collapse of the bridge. But when the bridge is being done allegedly repaired the traffic flow is not closed, so that the wire supporting the bridge apart under the weight of large vehicles. Many vehicles which is passing during the Mahakam Bridge II along 720 meters of the collapse was most motorcycles. Also there are several other vehicles such as cars, trucks, and minibuses. Mahakam Bridge collapsed while it was being repaired. A few moments before the collapse, some users see the officer who repair vehicles. It was seen a number of officers appear correct piles and bridge construction. Several officers were seen being brought compressor repair the bridge. The collapse of the bridge led to the violent crushing sound of the pounding and the water so a lot of local people who then panicked. wow...and our bridges is only history now.. many of rumour what the cause of the collapsed of that bridge... what do you think about it?? i attach too that picture..
