How do you wax your upper lip with wax strips?

I just bought mini cold wax strips from a pharmacy store. This is the first time I'm going to use this kind of stuff. I usually go to a waxing salon to have it waxed or thread. It just seems less expensive if I do it myself.
Though I seldom get allergies from cosmetic products, I bought the wax strips for sensitive skin to be safe since this is the first time I'm going to do it (and I am skeptical and doubtful if I could really do it). Now, it says on the packet that I should warm the wax slightly by rubbing between my fingers for 30 seconds...
Well, I just really want some pieces of advice and great instructions on how to do this. I've seen a youtube video already but in that video the wax is not yet on the strip. Can someone help me out here.

I don't wax since there is nothing to wax.
I once used that kind of wax for my legs, it was useless. I think it was because of the kind of hair, way too tiny/thin to keep stucked into that wax.
Wax you have to make soft (warm) first. Then you put it on, wait (cools of, hair sticks in it) and you pull it of (the idea is to pull out the hair as well).
I think that if you have a serious problem it's cheaper (on long term) to remove the hair in an other way. By laser/electric epilation.

It's not really much of a problem. It's for vanity's sake. Hahaha! Anyway, I did it quite successfully but not as great as having it done in a salon.
