Weird tasks and bad jokes (3) : A simple visit to a website.

Some tasks proposed by task sites are really easy, by example this "visit a website" task : 1. Go to http://... 2. Stay on the page for a considerable amount of time Required proof that task is finished 1. Actual URL of page after visiting given I went to http://..., was redirected to another page and stayed there 3 mn, then I copy/pasted the URL in the box of the task site. 10 easy cents. Too easy, maybe. I have a doubt about this task : why somebody pays 10 cents to stay "a considerable amount of time" on an affiliate page displaying only three lines "Your account has been shut down for Credit Card Fraud. ... .com Works closely with police authorities worldwide and your credit card fraud activity will be reported to local authorities for prosecution." ? Well, I have followed the instructions closely. What do you think of this task ? Would have you done it ? Tiebreaker : Do you think I will be paid for this visit ?

Employer rated this task "Satisfied" - Believe it or not, the guy paid me for seeing those three lines.
You will! I completed two tasks like this and I was paid. I wonder how stupid must be the task creator to pay for this. Here's the proof that such task is paid:

Rated positively by the task creator : congrats. The task creator for my task has not been seen since 2 weeks : maybe is he already in jail, and I will be credited automatically after a week ?

I have looked for online shops accepting AlertPay, and I have bought small gifts for Christmas, but I have not yet received them. I hope we will have PayPal available again at Matrixmails before Christmas -- I am waiting to cash out--.

I thought you completed this tasks today. Maybe you will be paid eventually, when he gets out of jail. What are you doing with the money from Microworkers, anyway? Have you managed to withdraw them from Alertpay?

If I was doing tasks, then this might be one that I would do as it does not require you to download or register for anything or give an e-mail address or anything like that. I can stay on a page for a "considerable amount of time" easily enough, and they can get as much information from me after a few seconds to a minute as they can for several minutes.

Like the disposable e-mail address you gave me - topffer@furcoatsforall.nowaxing.net? I do not think that I could manage having a bunch of disposable e-mail addresses. First, it would get way too confusing as I have enough trouble keeping track of my "personal" and "business" e-mails. Second, I have problems throwing things away, so I would probably try to keep them all instead of properly disposing of them. {insert "silly" emoticon here}

I have never used a disposable e-mail account, so I guess that I just do not have proper experience with these things. In fact, I would not even have a clue as to how to go about creating one. That is alright, though, because I know who to go to if ever I need a tutorial on them.

ROFLMAO ! We can find a better use for beeswax than epilation. I have no problem with disposable emails : there is no password to remember, as they are public. I try to be careful and when I sign up I use a disposable email service where I can delete a confirmation link. You can't imagine how many spam a simple sign up to a newsletter can generate. In some disposable emails keeping emails during a week I find sometimes 40 or 50 when I use the same fake email, and I don't want to keep any of them.

I met this thing too. In fact, twice. You know, when i see the message from the website, i was really scared, because i am a timid person, and have never done any bad things, and was afraid of being caught by net office or some department. Actually, now i am more careful, when i meet similar task, i won't accept and try it again.

If you have never done a bad thing, it was not for you. The message itself made me laugh as I am sure it was for the owner of the website, probably the same person than the task creator. It is why I hesitated to do this task. I can say now that I have been paid : the task has been validated by the task site after a week.

Maybe it's a new message? Before it could have been other thing. I have done such tasks a lot(not here), but most casted 0.03 maximum, if it was more, it usually required to also leave a comment. Anyway, I think you must be paid, if the task giver is honest. Not your fault that the site is now like this.

The task site is Microworkers. I have received more than $100 from it, but you have to know that since a few months there is no more a PayPal option -- only AlertPay or MoneyBookers -- to cash out.

The minimum paid by this task site is $0.10 for a task and it was a $0.10 task -- they pay a bit more for a comment, but I don't want to imagine what sort of comment should have been left on this page if it was possible to comment --. I am not sure that a credit card fraudster can be "honest", but the site is, and I believe I will be paid.

hi friend, well I've never done any task on the internet my whole life but I would presume the message you got was intended to put a scare on the uniniated and the new, it's easier to bleed out personal information on a scared person wishing to make a few cents while at the same time they are installing whatever they would want to install on your PC while you innocently wait for them, whether they pay or not , I.m out of there, they might have installed something on your PC that would detect your activity once you login to your paypal account to check if they paid, ten cents in exchange for your CC informationbad deal for us and good for them.

Hello Louievill, The message I got was for the owner of this page, who was probably the task creator. As he had to pay first the task site to create the task, I hope he did not used a robbed credit card and I will be paid. I am surfing under Linux, unlike 90% of people, so I don't care a lot about Windows malware, even if I check my HDD for them times to times. Happily this task site does not pay with PayPal anymore, so my PayPal account is safe.

I'd be worried about that myself. More than likely they got you to stay on the site while they downloaded some malware or spywear on your computer. It sounds pretty fishy.

I am surfing on Linux and I don't care Windows malware, but I will scan my disk. I suppose the task creator has been suspended for fraud from this website, but the use of "you" is surprising.

Nuh! I think you will be paying more for the credit card fraud instead of being paid. LOL!
